Thank you all so much, especially amy for keeping the thread on point.

I blocked him on AW without messaging him, and if it ever happens again I'll just walk off and try to shake it off. I was just so angry I couldn't think straight, it totally ruined my evening.

To note,  I have been a SW for six years. Being recognised does not bother me as most men either keep their mouth shut or tell me in an email "Saw you in Sainsburys, etc" - which is annoying, but at least they know to keep their distance. I am 'out' in my daily life. What bothers me is the clear invasion of personal space, privacy and boundaries that come with walking up to me, yelling and pointing. Men should not do this to ANYONE regardless of their job or visibility.

I understand that. I once had someone who booked me after I'd rejected him via phone once (different numbers) and once there proceeded to criticise then yell at me, walked & left. He then phoned me immediately after to continue yelling nasty stuff at me.  I also got a string of nasty FB onlys. Lovely fella. I only found out a few weeks later it was the same guy.

Yes that shook me all evening. I've also had indiscreet clients but none in that class.

I've seen a few clients out in public and they have all been discreet as have I, one guy as sitting with his wife in the same pub as me, he looked nervous for some reason! X

Maybe, I ought to grow some more nerves.   :)

I wouldn't start any conversations with him, I'd say its best to ignore him completely.

Ditto I never engage odd balls no matter how many times they try to get my attention. They soon go away.  I can't even imagine how you felt at the moment :o

Yes.  The thing is, it's useful to remember that people do recognise you in public places without you Actually knowing if your face is shown.  People remember you from the face pics on AW.  If this is your only life then it's the risks you take to get more money but as you say, you get some undesirable attention from alienated punters you refused a booking.  So this one decided to humiliate the OP in public.  He got the results.   Some can be very vindictive as we all know.

That's why I don't show my face. I didn't make more money when I used to show it anyway ... I only got dickheads texting me "saw you in Starbucks" etc.
