Professional photos
« on: 20 March 2025, 10:32:10 pm »
Hi ladies

Iv recently come back after having children had few years off and starting again. I used to know someone that had a number for photography, however, my phone with that number on is long gone and I’m in need of new pics.

Would anyone be able to point me in direction of a photographer in Northampton/coventry area please 🙏

Also apart from AW where else could I advertise now? It used to be AW Vivastreet Punternet select an escort main ones but looks like it’s all changed.

Many thanks in advance

I do my own selfies these days. Not found it profitable to pay photographers any longer.

I don't tour though.

I also take my own photos, I bought myself a ring light and there not that much different to ones where I’ve paid a photographer to do them. If your not wanting to pay out at the moment then I would do this. Xx

Get yourself a standing selfie stick, one that comes with a camera button. Then you can take pictures of yourself using the button. It’s so much easier and cheaper!

What’s that? A app or website?

I do have professional photos as I’m not photogenic in the least, and I look like a mutt if I take a selfie.

If you’re prepared to travel there are good photographers but I can’t help with your local area.

My own opinion is, that if I’m having pictures out ‘there’ of myself, then it’s going to be the best version possible.

My pictures are lovely, only blemish cover and lighting. I’m plus size and my size isn’t altered at all. I just don’t have the skills or tech know how to make a selfie look acceptable.

I do my own but I can take e.g. 20 or more shots and only feel happy with 4 🙄.   Some times it's worse and after clicking away for ages I'm lucky to get half a dozen I'm happy with. Then comes the editing 🫤

Altering lighting and cropping etc results in a few I can confidently use

Not sure what pro photographers charge these days but it's one expense I don't have 👍

I actually take my own photos also. My style is all about that ‘girl next door’ vibe and I feel like by snapping my own photos, it keeps things more real and relatable.
I’m a confident blend of strength and sensuality

I've had a couple of clients say they prefer my amateur pics to the professional ones as they say they look more real and natural.

I'm so lazy when it comes to pics and try reusing what I've got already as much as I can. Professional photographers aren't worth the money in my opinion, so I avoid as much as possible.

There is such a thing as a stupid question and there is not a first time for everything.

I have regular photo shoots as well as take my own using both mobile phone and a proper camera. I find each have benefits, for example I've learned posing and style from professionals as well as picked up lots of make up tips from make-up artists if they've been compulsory. Clients seem to like the fantasy of me modelling, as much as my selfies.

They'll also own the copyright to the photos, and whilst this is true of anybody who takes your picture I'd be a lot less concerned about a well thought of professional photographer with something to lose misusing them, or publishing them somewhere I'd rather they didn't.

Like the majority, I just do my own :)

I use selfies for AW, but professional for my website, I find that works best. But I don't think it's worth getting professional pictures unless you are wanting to pay a decent amount (£500-£1000 plus) and most of the best ones are in London or Manchester. The ones of middling/cheap quality & price are not any better than taking them yourself and often worse, because posing someone is a bit of an art, and if you are doing it yourself you can just see what is flattering for you.

As for customers & photo preferences, I find same day/shorter bookings seem to like selfies, longer/pre-booking guys like professional, as a vvvv. general rule, so it depends on what kind of work you want to do  :)

I'd totally agree with this, but the last and final time I tried professional photos - ten years ago - was also the most expensive and by far the worst pictures of me I think I've ever seen. I'd almost finished building my new website and was heartbroken (and then fucking furious).

The last straw was that the makeup artist had covered my face in bright orange base so even if the pictures had been any good I would have had to bin them (I was told when I pointed out the makeup was too dark that it was 'for the lights'). The photographer was patronising and annoying too, and made it clear that he was only interested in doing his stock poses with the same props and backgrounds (anybody remember the white telephone/chaise longue? ::)) that he used for every single person even though I'd made it clear I wanted something different that represented me - that was £500 straight down the pan.

There's some middle ground too - my pictures are selfies but I put time and effort into cropping them and adjusting the saturation, lighting and so on so they look nice, and like Patricia I take hundreds just to get a few that are any good :)
