Does anyone accept client payments via Paypal? I was just thinking of setting up a separate account for work related stuff but am a bit afraid that the client will have access to my business or personal name. Anyone experienced with this?

Some ladies do use paypal, I suspect they have a way around the name thing.

You need to be aware if they find out it's for adult services you risk having your account, and funds seized.

Also be aware that under certain circumstances payments can be reversed up to over a month after they were sent, I'm also unclear about the possibility of card chargebacks if they've used that as a funding source.

I think it has to be sent Friends and Family for it to be irreversible.

Read paragraphs two and three until you decide to sort out another method of payment.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

Hmmm sounds quite risky. Can anyone suggest an alternative method?

I think if you do some searching you'll find some discussions about alternative payments: amazon vouchers are on idea.

As above, do not use PayPal for anything sex work related.

If a client uses their credit or debit card the payment can be recalled with a simple call to their bank.  If it's a payment to friends and family PayPal offers no protection and the payment is reversed.  If it's a payment for goods and services it's up to you to prove that goods were sent or services rendered... unfortunately there's no way to do this if it's sexual services as it's a breach of PayPal's ToS.

And yep if PayPal find out that's how you use your account they will definitely seize your funds and block your account and all related details (ie bank info, phone number, ip address) to prevent you opening a new account.

I'm sure someone posted a few weeks ago that F&F payments can't be reversed?

I can easily see how a card funded transaction could be charged back.

Amazon vouchers, I also have a stand alone bank account for receipt of funds.

Also clients can get the payment back if they really wanted by landing you in it big time. Do you trust clients enough to keep your affairs private from paypal?. It is a big gamble I think. I just use paypal for eBay etc. This is why it would be a big loss for me if found out.

I get any deposits as a BACS bank transfer. I just give them account number and sort code and if they are doing it online they can type in any old name - so I don't reveal my real name to them!

There's a free app operating on iOS and Android which is designed to send money between friends - it's called Circle.

Whatever name you enter on signup is what will show (you also have the option of changing your name slightly so if you enter say Lovely Linda, you could opt to only show Lovely L). You obviously have to enter your bank details/ card details to withdraw any money sent to you, but your client won't see any of that.

I originally tested it out when looking for a way to receive payments for sales of adult items that I've done online, and for me it's worked perfectly so far (about 2 months in and over 50 troublefree payments through their system)! So long as you're operating in the same currency (both sender and receiver) there isn't any fees (or at least I haven't been charged any), and it's as simple as requesting money from a user (based on either a cellphone number or email address they provide) and they either accept or decline.

I would suggest checking out the t's and c's to see if they suit your particular circumstances, but for me it's been a real winner. I was given a suggestion by the person who recommended it to me was to avoid adult content inside the chat feature available inside the app , but otherwise payment for adult services seems to be no issue :)

Good Luck!

There is a debate about this in a deposits thread: when I looked at the Circle T and C it said your real name was revealed if money was sent to you (not the  name you put in the profile) someone else said they thought that was a defunct T&C for the American market.

I've used it once but if there is there is even the slightest possibility this is true I'm not using it again

OP - Obviously I recommend doing your own research etc, but I tested this out with my partner prior to using it with customers (I work in tech in my real life and still couldn't find a solution until this) and he didn't see my details so I'm unsure of which answer is correct (mine or the other posters). I have found it a great option for me, and as there's no fees you can try it out with a friend (or yourself if you have 2 numbers/emails) to make sure you're comfortable with the information sent/showing etc, and to see exactly who can view what (my first time we did a test with 5 pounds sent back and forth between us).

The post above had me questioning myself, and so I went back and looked into both mine and his accounts and sure enough he saw the name I made up for myself, the email address I signed up with, and no other identifying information. He put his real name in (typical male lol), so I obviously saw that. I looked around and so far as I can tell there's also no other options to go into where you can search for more information on the sender or receiver inside the site/app.

The only place they could possibly have (and therefore give) your information from - even in the event of emergency/investigation etc - is when you put in your bank details to withdraw funds, and even then it still works regardless of the name you put in so long as the account number is correct. This is what I did (fake but realistic sounding name - no sense raising red flags with anyone when you don't need to) and as I said I've been using it drama free for a little while now.

As with anything, only you know what works for you and is within your comfort/safety level, but I'd suggest doing the research and making up your mind on this one once you have all the information.

Good luck!

Thanks  I did do the research,  read through all their terms and conditions, that's what I was going on.

If someone can actually verify that this term and condition stating that your real name will be shown if you receive money  is in fact redundant no one will be more delighted than I.

PayPal won't reverse a F&F payment as there is no protection but there's also no protection if a charge back is filed with a bank.  The logic being " sort it out with your mate"
