Well that's essentially what I'm doing. I took the 'moving, never coming back EVER' out of my profile, and simply said that I'm going abroad for awhile. If a client asks, I'm doing a house swap with some people I met on a message board in London (hey, dreams can come true, maybe? anyone interested? lol)

But, I still feel I HAVE to do this. I've added a new pic, but the suggestion by someone who said it's like passing by a high-end store with the same manikins dressed in the same gear...it can get stale. I do realize my pictures need updating as many are over a year old, the newest being only about 6 months old, except the body shot I took the other day.

But in truth, it's really more than just the pictures need changing. It's down to psychology. These guys know if I change pictures, I'll still be the same guy with the same phone # that's been here forever and always been here forever. There's a saying: men want what they can't have. Sometimes you have to shake things up to get them to do right.

There's 1 regular that I have known for over 3 years, who used to book me often. Then, overtime he started wanting to pay less and less. However, at the start, he was already talking my rates down as it is. Well, 2 months ago, he was hemming and hawwing about booking me. He started asking if I was moving. When I told him I would be returning the following month, he was like, "oh okay...well I'll just catch you when you come back". And never booked.

I believe if I would have told him I was NEVER coming back, he'd of had a sense of urgency and moved forward with it. But being I've always been here, guys have become complacent and take me from granted. They won't know what they've got until it's gone.

Don't pretend you are leaving, guys get wise and don't believe it when it is true.

I'd have not bothered about the regular if he was faffing about so much, I'd have just left him to it. In my experience someone like that ends up pushing you more each time, to the point where it's not worth it. Being firm, letting them know you are looking for reliable, no grief regulars creates a good sense of urgency.

Exactly!!!

If you're consistent, the ones you don't want will drop off. I don't accept their bookings if they mess me around more than once. You have to let them know you're serious - in the nicest possible way!

That leaves the good ones and it is well worth encouraging them. I give them every incentive to keep coming back, but at the end of the day it is up to them whether they do or not. The ones that really want to will do.

Well, I don't really know what else to do. I've kind of decided to tone down my leaving abroad forever lines. I was just finding that in addition to the couple of clients it got me, I was also getting some guys who just wanted to 'stick it to me' before I left by sending me on bogus outcall visits.

Does anyone think it will help to not post a rate? I've decided to take down all of my rates for now, and just see if I can reel clients in with a little negotiation on the rates. Seems I have to do that all the time anyway. Although the 'industry standard' for guys in the US is about $200-300/hr, I'm just not finding that to be succesful where I live. It's more of $100-150 an hour. But, I can't advertise that when everyone else is advertising $200-250. All that does is just bring me a bunch of cheapskates and wasters.

Ugh, I just don't know what to do. They are really going to make me go there. I'm about to make the decision to move all of my things into a storage unit and just move on.
