Your right sinful if more stopped doing it then less clients would demand it...but it is risky and a worry with all the infections going around.

Excuse my naivety, but can STIs still be contracted from OWO if they don't CIM?

There has been a scare recently with this and am seriously considering removing OWO. I don't CIM but I'd rather avoid the risk of catching anything.

I have done owo for 4 years and have never caught any infection or illness. I do not do CIM nor swallow. I always have them take a shower before. To avoid infections I only brush my teeth in the morning (first hour) and last hour (when I go to sleep) since brushing my teeth opens small wounds and you have to wait 1-2h to close them. after each service use listerine (this brand has a high alcohol content to disinfect). If the client has any wrinkles / sores / blemishes or does not want to shower, use a condom for the blowjob.

I have seen a very recent article (from the USA), confirming 1 in 10 men carry HPV viruses in their throat e.g. oral HPVs.

[removed - we don't post press URLs here]

"HPV can infect many different parts of the body?not just the penis and vagina, but also the cervix, anus, throat and mouth. Most people won't know they have an infection, since it doesn't typically cause symptoms, and most infections go away on their own. But some strains can develop into genital warts or even cancer. About 30,700 men and women in the U.S. develop cancer from HPV every year.

They also found that one of the riskiest strains of HPV known to cause cancer, HPV 16, was six times more common among men than women."

There's another article on HPV:

CBS News 1 in 4 US men have cancer-linked HPV genital infections

"CHICAGO -- The first national estimate suggests that nearly half of U.S. men have genital infections caused by a sexually transmitted virus and that 1 in 4 has strains linked with several cancers.

Most human papillomavirus infections cause no symptoms and most disappear without treatment. And most adults will get an HPV infection at some point in their lives.

But high-risk HPV can cause cancer in the mouth and upper throat, cervical cancer in women and other cancers. Less harmful strains can cause genital warts.

Vaccines can prevent infections but experts say vaccination rates in pre-teens and young adults are too low. High-risk HPV poses cancer risks to people who are infected and to their sexual partners, who can catch HPV even when the infections are silent."

Again, it's an article from the USA on STDs, wondered if there's a similar trend in the UK as well?

The HPV virus is actually in a lot of people i know of 3 or 4 working girls that there smear come back not normal they all had HPV and were more at risk of cervical cancer and got cells lazered.  You can get HPV quite easy from anything sexual but i dont think its completely classed as a STI though is it?

I have been tested negative myself.  As far as I am aware that there's a high risk, proven, cancer-causing strain (please see the article).  That's something I don't want to end up with.  My test results showed I had no cancer-causing strain.  I have been told that dentists are far more vigilant on oral cancer associated with it.  Maybe, there's the marked increase or much better awareness, I don't know.  This has been known for some time hence the vaccination started on young girls.  I essentially don't want to end up with the throat or oral cancer in my old age.  I guess that's my fear.   I had known someone who had the prostate cancer at the age of 80 years old (not in this industry). He had to have numerous chemo, which was so hard to believe, took nearly 2 years to get it under control.

I'd recommend switching this to an alcohol free one such as Dentyl; rinsing your mouth with alcohol all the time is not just ineffective when it comes to STIs but can thin the lining of your mouth and actually make you more prone to infections if any are present. It can also put you more at risk of oral cancer, just as an alcoholic would be.

I don't know if there's ever been any clinical studies, but my hypothesis would be that just doing OWO is safer than CIM. My guess would be pre-cum would increase the risk, doing a quick swallow of anything would help, but holding semen in the mouth, snowballing etc. would be most risky of all.

As said, it's important not to brush your teeth just beforehand. There was a clinical trial which suggested that Listerine - and specifically Listerine - if used straight after oral could reduce the risk of oral gonorrhoea being transmitted. I'm not sure if a non-alcohol mouthwash would also have this effect.

HPV is a non-issue for me. Everyone has it, and even doing OW wouldn't protect you completely.

Do they demand it ? Just say no and send to someone else , me for instance , I do OWO and cim always have and swallowed .

We're always going on about choice on here and that's mine , plus I've never had anything and my consultant ( private ) and the Gum clinic consultant have always said the risk is absolutely minimal with oral , but again it's about choice and choosing the services you offer.

Plus I state on my profile arrive freshly showered , then no need to shower ( I don't insist) but never had a smelly cock yet let alone a cheesy one , I'd be sick.

Now I'm bound to get one tomorrow lol ! I've also always swallowed until a couple of days ago and that's due to an entirely different issue.

Yes some have demanded it but there just arse holes anyway, but yes it is a choice. I do think most customers want owo orcexpect it rather then ow as the industry has changed a lot.

I read recently on a different site that a working girl contracted oral gonorrhoea. She said it could have been anytime in the last 13 weeks since her last tests, in that time she had 26 feedbacks from clients. That?s only the people who left feedback too, so god knows how many! I just worry about that the most. She was really good about it though informing everyone she had met which I thought was very brave.
Anyway without going off topic, reading things like that makes me glad I?m protected, even though I know I have lost bookings because of it.
In my private life I have no objection to owo and cim, enjoy it too.

I looked online as I automatically assumed that HPVs are STIs.    Wiki's sexually transmitted infection does include HPV as STI along with other sites e.g. NHS Choice etc.  Not getting tested at sexual health clinic doesn't mean it is not a sexually transmitted infection.    Given the seriousness of some HPV strain, it is checked via your normal healthcare service.  But they never swab your throat for HPV 6 strain, which is a biggie.  They give you cervical screening only.

I guess anyone could choose to get it tested, privately, given the increased awareness of HPV and oral/throat cancer link.  Not sure where exactly. Likely somewhere in London.   OWO has become the norm as other posters pointed out, the healthcare service would really need to consider offering the HPV throat/oral screening, too.

From Wiki: "STI"

"In 2015, about 1.1 billion people had STIs other than HIV/AIDS.  About 500 million were infected with either syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia or trichomoniasis.  At least an additional 530 million people have genital herpes and 290 million women have human papillomavirus. STIs other than HIV resulted in 108,000 deaths in 2015"

I was slightly staggered to read STIs could result in deaths.  How ignorant I must have been!  :(

Well i had a friend who used to pay for the HPV testing privately because of the risks and your right its only really tested via NHS through a smear.  Yes you can die from STIs sad but true.
