Outcall in the hotel with key cards everywhere
« on: 07 December 2011, 08:44:27 pm »
Hello Ladies,

Need your advice, please..

I have an outcall, in Sheraton Heathrow.
Searched for all available information  from the forum, all about the hotel  and well, it won?t be easy ?  key cards everywhere, and someone has mentioned hotel staff giving the rude look..
How can I approach this? Should I ask my client to getting me from the hotel foyer? Or should I go straight to the reception asking to be let in to his room... Not to mention that if I will be asked for the id my real name has nothing to do with my working name..
And advice and sharing your experience is very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

If there is a bar, ask to meet him there, but first of all do phone him in his room before setting off.

I always meet outside the door. Thanks to the smoking ban people hanging around the door isn't such a weird thing. lol

I like key cards in a way..saves the stress of knocking the door and someone else opening...thats only happened once and only because I was at the wrong hotel...ha ha

Also If I know the hotel well I can test the punter on the hotel doors  ;D

Yes, get him to meet you in the Bar or outside the front door. Make sure you know what each other will be wearing and then let him identify you so you dont have to risk walking up to the wrong stranger. I tend to get stand somewhere noticable and then fiddle with my phone, pretending to send a text,  while he walks up to me. Then its up to him to walk you into the Hotel.

I would avoid Reception at all costs - I've never had any problems when I have needed to ask for car park exit tokens etc but would rather fly under their radar if possible...

Good points.
I will ask my client if he can meet me either outside of the hotel entrance or in the bar area.

Yeah, Id feel extremely uncomfortable talking to the reception staff, explaining to them that I am here for a "business" meeting at 9pm with Mr X at room Y.

Thank you.

if its a busy hotel you can get in the lift with some one else? he should of told you it was keycarded and understand that you will need to meet him outside or in bar!

I've been to a lot of the heathrow hotels and yes, most of them have electronic cards. What I do is walk up to reception and tell them straight away I'm going to room xxx and I need someone to "buzz me in". No explanations on why I have to meet mr so and so given. They usually ask for my name ( I give them my working one) and the name of the client. Then they ring him up and let him know there's a female guest under the name Ana who wants to go up if it's ok to give her access to his floor.

End off. Never had a problem. Whatever the people in reception think is their problem, not mine. Just make sure that you're dressed appropiate or conservative and your attire doesn't scream "hooker.

Hey Monika

I know the hotel.  To be honest I never found the reception staff rude at all.

Ok so this is what I do.  Not sure if you are driving there, but I always do and therefore enter the hotel at the side entrance which is where you come in from the car park.  I always meet my client there and what he will do is give me a spare card to the room.   I then walk the other way to him so I take the lift which is at the back (not the front lifts near reception) and then take it to wherever and let myself in.

This is a client I do know well now and this system is something we have been carrying out for ages.

I have found, from my experience, that getting the client to give a duplicate card to you upon arrival, somewhere discreet, is a good way around this problem.    Obviously, I would have done all my checks beforehand to ensure he is who he is and is definitely booked in there etc etc.

I have another one I visit in a central London hotel and he meets me round the corner to give me the card.  It's all very cloak and dagger and not, I would say, an ideal situation but done discreetly enough and with confidence will ensure you attract little attention to yourselves whilst doing this.

I think it's probably too late now for you as your meet was possibly tonight so hope it went well.

Is there something I am majorly overlooking?

Probably not - but it only takes one Receptionist on a power trip to cause a fuss and embarrass your client. I'll do anything I can to avoid any indiscretion so while I'm more than happy to get a card from Reception I'd never do it without checking with my Client first.

Yes - to be honest, I'd been wondering why some clients ask me frantically, "Are you discreet?!?!" and always felt like replying, "Er, I'm going to wear a t-shirt that says WHORE VISITING MR SMITH IN ROOM 123 on it, am I?!" But now I see that maybe he's just worried I'm going to go talking to the hotel staff on reception!

I would never ask for a key to a client's room, and if I were stopped by hotel staff asking where I was going (highly unlikely, but still could happen in some place with odd management) I wouldn't say the client's name, room number or call him in front of them. I'd say I was visiting a friend and if they have a problem with that, I'll just ring my friend and ask if he minds coming down to meet me. Then I'd go somewhere I could make the call privately and explain to the client, giving him the choice of whether to come down or just call the booking off. I don't care who knows what I'm doing, really, since I can always just never go back there and nobody can prove anything anyway - but telling hotel staff which guest is receiving an escort this evening is best avoided, isn't it??

I'm pretty sure 90% of guys staying in a hotel would be absolutely mortified to know an escort asked for a copy of their room key at reception! What if his wife came by the next day to do the same thing and a careless receptionist said, "Oh, are you sure you're his wife? Can I see your ID, please? Because you looked very different yesterday!"

Divorce o'clock. :-X

(Obviously if you agree with the client in advance that you'll get a room key from reception then that's completely different, so apologies if I misunderstood.)

I agree totally with Emily.

I am amazed that a hotel would be so happy to give out a room key to a visitor?  Have they actually done this ?

With regards to the client's wife turning up the next day.  I have a recollection of hearing such a story and can't think now if it was true or in a film!   (Getting old I am........... LOL ).

Dear Ladies,

Thank you for all tips given here!

All went well!

My lovely client booked the room on the ground floor. I didn?t take any lift.

He has considered all in advance, clever one  :D

Hey Monika!

Glad to hear that !

I think I may have given you info for the other Sheraton so apologies for that as am sure that hotel doesn't have ground floor rooms ?

If that was the other Sheraton  then yes that has ground floor rooms and I didn't realise they had introduced the key card operation to the lifts as that wasn't the case when I was there last!

Perhaps you could confirm ?

Thanks

Hey Alex,

Yes, the hotel I went for the outcall to, was the Sheraton Heathrow hotel, not the Sheraton Skyline.

But to be honest I don?t know if they use the card keys to the lifts or not.

It`s been my outcall there, and as you know my client booked the room on the ground floor (therefore no need for me to use the lift)

Before the appointment I have done the search of the saafe forum, looking for all possible info about the hotel.. As I found the tread about Sheraton Heathrow which mentioned key cards, I just assumed that this is the one I am going to: the Sheraton Heathrow hotel..
