Title: No safety call awnser. Where from here?
Post by: SpaceHopper on 22 July 2014, 01:38:28 pm
Hi everyone, and sorry if this sounds like a stupid question!

Me and my friend live opposite ends of the country but I do security buddying for her. She text me half an ago to say she's fine and the client is in the shower. I called her at the agreed booking end time anyway to check shes OK as she said in the text he had showered and she was fine but she didnt mention him leaving so I didnt feel I knew if she was safe or not. He has loads of positive AW feedback. She is now not answering her phone and the booking was supposed to end 5 mins ago. Do I call the police? Do I keep ringing? I don't want to get her or the flat owner in trouble but I'm also obviously worried.

Any advice appreciated I'm majourly freaking out here xx

Have you heard from her yet? I probably wouldn't call the police...yet. Unless that's your agreement?

I hope you give her one hell of a bollocking when she does get into contact!!

I know it's all OK now, but this would be a good time to work out a proper contingency plan in case anything does go wrong in future (and it's amazing how many people arrange the calls but not the action to be taken if something doesn't go as it should).

This does happen (and it's happened to me too when the lady I was buddying didn't check to see her text had sent properly and got on the tube, so there's a good reason for Call Not Text) but if it means everybody sharpens up a bit then it's done something useful :).
