Hi all,

So, I'm very very seriously thinking about becoming an escort (based in Brighton). I've done my research, and I am pretty sure I have a clear idea of what to expect.

There are only 2 things that I think may be problems: 1) I'm curvy (I consider myself to be sexy, and so do a few other people), but I'm not the standard size 8 - will this be a problem for me? I do want to exercise more, and therefore hopefully lose a bit more weight, but I like my curvy figure and don't want to lose it completely.
2) I have tattoos on the inside of both my arms - they are pretty unique, how have other people handled this before?

Besides those specific questions, any other bits of practical advice from anyone? Thanks! :)

Curvy is not a problem, you will probably just attract clients that are turned on by a few extra pounds...and there are LOADS! Tattoos, same thing really. Some clients love them, some not so much. C'est la vie.

Nothing whatsoever to worry about.

Hi Emme and welcome to SAAFE :)

The best advice anybody can give you for now is to read the main SAAFE site; the forum is an offshoot and you can find a lot here especially by using the Search box, but the basic start up information there will help you focus, and also work out what specific questions you have which you can bring back here.

I've no idea where in the world a size 8 is 'standard' for prossies or anything else, but it certainly isn't here! Like Disciplinarian says above, the punters who fancy you will book you and the ones who don't won't, so it's really not worth losing any sleep over :).

As for sizes, it was based on all the escort agency sites I've looked at in Brighton so far - most of the girls look quite skinny! Which lead me to ask whether there would even be work available for curvy girls... ;-)

Where could I find reviews of escort agencies in a certain area? Is there a website? Or should I see if I can find a buddy on here?

Escort agencies tend to be quite hopeless at marketing anyone who doesn't fit their favourite stereotype. You can market yourself much better than anyone else, and working as an independent means you have control over who you see.

100% agree with everyone else here. Even with civvy dating, the fact that I have a size 12 waist and a size 16 arse with thighs to match seems to be a huge selling point  ;D

Yeah, I can see the benefits of being an Indie!

But, (and there's always a but), I'd like to "try it out" first, without all the other pressures and set up being an Indie requires. If I do like the work (I'm pretty sure I will), then I'll consider going Indie. Also, I get to learn some of the ropes and meet some other WG - I'm sure some networking beforehand will help in the future!

Hi Emmeline and welcome to saafe.

Like the others have said, firstly read the main site three or four times minimum as you will take in something different each time you read it.  There is a lot to take in so you won't remember half of it but it is always there for referral, even after you've been whoring for years you will need to refer to it.

Your size and tats will not be a problem, they will just draw the type of guy who likes either or both. 

There is work for everyone in this industry, even oldies like me, though I've retired for whoring now. Please don't go by what agencies have as criteria as they have a very limited view of what a female worker should look like. 

I would also forget about agencies period.  You will do much better if you go indie and get yourself out there with your own profile and website and you will keep 100% of the money too and not have to hand over 30-40% of your hard earned money. Like xw5 says, you can control your profile better yourself and screen the guys you may choose to meet and remember, you don't need to be willing to see everyone who calls or emails you. Who you see is up to you, unlike a lot of agencies.  Agencies, won't vet clients as well as you will so you just don't know with them who you are meeting. That is never good.

Take your time with getting set up and read read read read read everything you can. Even all the threads in this forum. It's amazing the things we don't think about before we start.

Jan and Feb are usually quieter months due to guys having to pay off those credits card bills and get back on their feet so there is really no rush.

Never think of anything about yourself as a down side or disadvantage. It's no different than dating people enjoy different things. Some like super skinny women some like women with more meat on them,some like small boobs some like big boobs,some like blond,brunette,black,red whatever hair, Some like girls with tattoos some like girls with no tattoos. All you need to do is market the things about you and people who like those things will find you. Find your niche and a client base for it. I have tattoos and piercings and the guys I see like them. If they don't they won't even bother booking me.

The main piece of advice I can offer for starting out is decide early on what you are willing and not willing to do and state it clearly on your profile. When starting out don't be too disheartened if your phone and inbox is quiet for a while. It takes time for people to find you and to get bookings but once you have seen a few you will find you get more. Being a new girl you will get bombarded with time wasters and idiots who like to pick on inexperienced girls to just mess with them or try to get free services. Read the warnings sections of websites such as this one to get information on known Time Wasters and dangerous clients if you can pick them up early on you can save yourself losing money or having a bad experience. If an offer sounds too good to be true it most likely is. Do your research and if all else fails ask for advice if you're not sure. There are many experienced ladies here who have probably dealt with every situation you will find yourself in before.

Hmmm... The idea of being able to choose my own clients and keep all my own money is definitely appealing!

I'll get a few bits and pieces together to start off, and I might put a profile up next week... Thanks to you all for the advice! I'm very excited to start, but I will take all advice seriously (on the forum and websites) - and I'll keep in mind the fact that it may be quieter this time of year.

If you set yourself up as a tattooed, curvy lass, I bet you get bookings!

Great advice about not doing anything you aren't comfortable with and sticking to it though. Seriously, carve a niche for yourself and you'll be fine. You will VERY quickly gain a sixth sense for idiot punters (after about 10 minutes of a profile going live) :)

...one last (slightly) less serious thing. You don't get to keep "all" your money, I wouldn't advise trying to cut out the worst punter of them all...Mr. HMRC. I'm sure some get away with it, I wouldn't be confident enough about not being caught.

Yeah, Candy, I think I'm going to have to get my own website up - anyone know of any good webmasters? I'm also based in Brighton, would like some professional photos taken, but don't know where to even START looking for a photographer!
