Newbie question don't like my name?
« on: 12 May 2008, 05:31:21 am »
Hello Everyone,

I have a query... I'm using the working name Kayleigh but I don't like it anymore and want to change my working name - it's early on with being independent for me (no website yet, but getting there - hopefully in the next week or so) so I don't think it would be an issue for me to change my name to something I like/suits me more at this early stage.

xx

Hi Kayleigh

Lots of girls change their names for various reasons, some good, some bad, but it shouldn't be a problem especially at an early stage.

xx.

I dont know know why I chose the name but I did - a year ago.!!!

Sometimes I wish I could change it but it is too late now!  So I am stuck with it!!! LOL

So I guess if it is early enough and not too many clients know you as your name then OK,

Much as I would love to change mine, I have too many clients know me as Nell, so would not work at all.

Going to post about a website - question - I need one and would like some recommendations if poss.

love to all
Nell x

You can still change it, Nell. People do after longer than a year.

Most clients know that we don't use our real names, so they understand if we want to change, and if they want to keep calling you Nell they still can if you don't mind. The only problem is making sure people who know your old name can still find you.

If you're only just getting a website it's a good time to revamp your image, and you can state on it that you were previously known as Nell. Get a new email address and set your old one to auto-reply an explanation or forward all emails to your new address. See if you can comment on your old reviews (some sites allow you to do this as a right to reply, but you could probably use the system just to say you have a new name and website). Post on any message boards that you've changed your name, it might even get you some extra attention.

How do I or who do I need to contact to get my user name on here changed to my new name? Or do I need to leave it as it is... And put an explanation elsewhere  ???

You can change it yourself Kayleigh. Just go to your profile. If you incur any problems let me know.
