Newbie - getting started
« on: 08 September 2014, 07:37:33 pm »
Hi,

I am relatively new to escorting, I started working for an agency (only for a couple of weeks) but have decided to go independant. I'm in the process of creating a AW profile - I'm just wondering where else to advertise and how. How many bookings can I expect on average a week and what sort of rate should I charge? I am planning to do in-calls at a local hotel 2 days a week.
Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated, sorry for all the questions.

Sophia xx

Do a search of girls in your area and see where they are advertising and where could work for you too.  You will see what other girls offer and you cam decide what you want to charge too.

It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

Hi newbie,

I am in London and I am advertising with AW only, you do get dry spells and then it picks up and the phone rings nonstop. Its all about encouraging clients to make a booking via AW so you can build up decent FB and after a while you will start attracting more and more people with each great FB. However you must also try and make them come back as regulars are like bread and butter. I was thinking to try Viva but they don't offer as much protection as AW in terms of not revealing your number, only choosing clients with feedback etc. that's what I like about AW even though nothing is 100%. There are nut cases out there everywhere but if a client has at least 3 decent feedbacks then you know things shouldn't go particularly wrong.
Also heard of Backpage etc. There was a thread here recently about where to advertise started by one of the senior member lady. It was very useful for future times in case AW dries up.

I used to work for an agency before going indie, trouble is they had me for 150 ph and after commission i only had 100 left which for London isn't a lot, considering the living costs here. Also, they don't vet clients enough, give out full address including flat number ( I work from home ) and you must always text them when you get busy etc. etc. in a way I felt like a prisoner. Also, at the moment down here the situation is that to get at least 1 client a day you have to be with 6-8 agencies so really bonkers. they aren't as busy as they used to be, back before recession and i heard from clients they hate all those over-photoshopped pics . You did the right thing I believe just be patient, give it time, don't feel disheartened if things go slow at the start in the first few months.

Hi,

Just to second the part about it taking a few months - I started at the end of June and it was a slow start (I know summer holidays are a slow time of year anyway) - it's only now (touch wood) that I'm starting to do well.

As I said in another thread, I've actually read clients saying that they won't see girls who have been around less than 3-6 months as they want to check girls are established to avoid any problems.  So don't lose heart and hang in there!

Agency life wasn't for me either...I've just written a long post about my experience in another thread....being indy might be a slow start but it's well worth it.

Good luck!

What newbies have to remember is that they are not the only newbie around.  Different times of the year brings in different influxes of femmes.

Around now the organised girls will log on to start saving up for little johnny's Christmas and the number of workers ie cam, phone  call and escorting will go up and in October and November the numbers will go up even more.  Then in January girls will panic when they see their credit card bill and more will sign up, so the next six months will bring a large number of newbies.

When I started whoring eight years ago there was around 125,000 members worldwide on AW.  Now there is between 2.5 and 3 million.  That shows you the rate girls and guys sign up.

We know some of them are fake and some will fall by the wayside but it shows you how much the business has increased.

It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

Sigh, you are right LadyLust, I remember the golden times 8-7-6 years ago, I was with an agency, only one agency and could easily had 10 men a day ( had I wanted such amount ) paying 200 per hour, when I decided to make a comeback, a year ago, I joined an agency, paid for expensive photos...I went through weeks of no bookings for 150 per hour, so I decided to join another 4 agencies and I would go thru an okay week and then down again nothing for two weeks.

I was struggling and then a friend who retired from AW recommended the site to me, having never been a indie before I had my reservations and I was worried about my safety etc. but I gave it a go and initially I was only attracting non-members and timewasters and dodgy sounding people, but I encouraged people to email me first for enquiries rather than call direct so within 3 months I managed to build up a decent FB and now attracting decent member with prolific FB themselves. it just takes time, its all down to your personality too, I am far from being a tall slim blonde Barbie doll, but I am always very friendly, respectful, I don't watch the clock/ check phone in front of them ( major turn off for clients ). Its also good not to practise back to back bookings ( unless you must ), because then you will enjoy yourself more and clients will feel it. If you are tired, grumpy overworked they will never come back.
