Apparently so! Earlier on today a guy offered me ?100 for an all nighter. Apparently in Coventry there are loads of guys that will do that cheap...
Jesus! Now that's just taking the piss. That's not even an hourly rate.
I'd be interested on hearing opinions from other guys (or girls) on this, though I do believe that generally girls can get more money than guys in the UK. I am a newbie to this though so could so please correct me if I am wrong here, but if the commercial profiles on Gaydar are to be believed then the going rate for an overnight meet for gay male is between ?300 and ?500 (with the occasional ?1000+ but I've only seen that once or twice)
Yes, women do tend to set (and get) higher rates than we do. Why? I dont know.
Dont try to compete with women's prices. They will always be 50-100 higher than the male market. Thats just how it is. I know it sucks, but somehow it just ended up that way.
Women can charge more than men simply because there's more of a demand for female escorts. That's the way it's always been. The male escort market here is only but a small fraction compared to the female market. If you're gay or bi, then you're in with a chance of making money. If you're a straight male, your chances are greatly diminished in trying to make a living.
Having to set a time limit is good. You dont have to stop immediately when it hits one hour, but if it starts to go over just bring it to a close. The max is about 15-20 minutes after the time limit is up...but that rarely happens.
That is good advice. It's how I work. Whilst I don't clock-watch, I do try to be aware of how much time has passed. You will get some clients that will try to go over time with you, but will baulk at the idea if they thought they had to pay extra if you did.
As Joey says, start to slowly bring things to a close. If your client wants to come for say a second time, make sure he's worked up at least within the closing hour, so whilst you don't rush him, you can sort of time it so you don't go over your allotted hour. It all sounds a bit complicated, but honestly, it'll come naturally to you.
There are some instances where you really do click with a customer, and you don't mind staying over a little bit. But make sure that's up to you, and it's what you want.
Oh, and one other thing. Originally I have been charging ?150 (yes, I'm a Brit - but I am sure it is the same here as it is over there) for a meet, ?400 for an overnight. These prices stemmed from the agreed price with my first client, who seemed more than happy with the "goods" (ahem, how sordid ) I don't really want to set a time limit or a ph rate on the "meet" because I want to keep my clients and don't want to be seen as clock-watching. This is problematic though, when a normal meet extends, when should I start to classify as an overnight? Any other guys got any tips as to pricing and these sort of issues?
Between ?400-?500 seems about right for an overnight. But I'm slightly concerned by what you said above re: extending normal meets.
If a customer wants to extend with you, make sure that's mentioned at the beginning of a booking, so there are no misunderstanding. It can happen though, that the client is having such a great time with you that he does want to extend the booking. You need to make sure and quote him the rate it states on your website. If he has to stop mid-appointment and get some more money, then so be it. Don't wait until after your extended time is over then you find out that whoops! he doesn't have the extra cash to give you.
It may seem a little awkward having to accept more money during a booking, but I'd rather put up with the awkwardness than find out at the end of the booking the client didn't have the extra fee to give you at the end. If nothing else you'd feel cheated and used.
I hope this all makes sense at this time of the morning.
And welcome btw. Thanks for the compliments on the site.
