flea bites

I'm not sure if in right place
Had a booking on Saturday night ...very scruffy house ...any way was only there for about 20 mins told him I had to leave as smell off cats was making me feel unwell .. Got up sunday morning noticed spots on my legs ..guess what I've only got flea bites . I was going to call him and tell him ..any advice ..

I'm not sure there would be much point in ringing him.He will know full well his cats have fleas poor little mites.I'd be more tempted to ring the rspca to be honest.However just get some antihistimine cream for your legs and make sure you don't go to his house again dirty sod.

Yes, he will be getting bitten too.

The treatments are easy and cheap enough - certainly less than it cost to book you - and are for both the cats (typically drops between their shoulder blades at regular intervals) and the house to kill the eggs (I can't remember what I've used - something boric acid-based powder, I think) until the fleas have gone.

It's probably worth calling the RSPCA to see what they say about whether it qualifies as animal cruelty.

We had cats when I was growing up, and to be honest, it's pretty difficult to eradicate fleas entirely. As soon as Tiggles heads off into another house, or interacts with other cats, they come back - it's more about managing the situation.

Unless you saw evidence of animal neglect, I think it's just one to make note to avoid in future.
