Title: New website nearly completed, comments anyone?
Post by: UrbaneAspects on 19 February 2009, 07:23:25 am
Hi, finally Im nearing the end of my site development and it will be ready just in time for my upcoming tour. Now, I still have to add just a few finishing touches here and there...

Also this site was really made to be kept simple. As a guy I know personally that when you're really horny words just dont even seem to exist so I wanted to keep it as simple and easy to read as possible but without leaving any 'burning questions' LOL.

let me know how you like...also be sure your screen is tuned the way the button image is because thats how I created the site in that particular size. It may look totally different in another size.

Excellent Joey!!!!

Looking really good and I love the way the pages are laid out and effects.

Your photos are superb and I am sure you will go far with this..........

One comment on spelling - you have Im - in place of I am - it should be I'm - hope you don't mind me pointing that out.  I don't know if in the US you use it that way as I am well aware there are some differences in spelling.

In any case it's a brilliant site and I wish you well, you deserve it!

Alex x

Ha!
I saw your bottom pic, the one with your jeans pulled down slightly and dropped ash all over my keyboard!
I must stop smoking!

Sorry but I did not spot any spelling mistakes as I was too busy setting the house on fire while looking at the photo's.

Nice job Joey!

:D  Thanks you all...Of course I have to say thanks alot for encouraging me to go forward with it otherwise I wouldnt of done it. I looked at lots of sites on SAAFE and just had to pull together different ideas. You all have very good sites, and it just helped me get a feel for it. And to hear most of you self-created was even more boost.

Thanks for the spelling checks, some nights I may have had a glass or 2 while writing  :-[

Phew! Fabulous photos. Nice site. A little slow to load on my PC, especially the gallery page, but worth the wait!

Great site, love the pics. You're gorgeous. But get rid of the bloody music. I nearly jumped out of my skin when I clicked on "enter". It's hardly discreet.

I like a lot - you little hottie!

As for the music, I actually like it, it's not descrete, but gets you in the mood.

Personally I'd probably go for a Barry White number, but that's just me showing my age.  ;)

Not when you're trying to sneak a look-in at work it doesn't. Imagine trying to get in the mood surrounded by a bunch of shirts and ties.
Or at home when you're trying to hide your activities from your partner. Oh yeah, I can just imagine Barry White moaning "Oooh Baby" loud and clear from the speakers on your computer
"Oh yeah, baby. Give it to me one more time." :D

Joey now we all have your best interests at heart which is why I must point out that in one of your photos you are clearly attempting rock climbing in little more than just your draws. Some thought must be given to health and safety issues as some of your visitors may try and emulate you.

LOL...Lily, I was actually only about 20 feet high (and that was scary enough!), I was hoping I wouldnt lose my grip as even that would of been enough to twist an ankle or break a bone!

And Brandy I took the music down LOL, I knew someone was going to say that, it scared me a couple of times and I put it up LOL. It is 'mood enhancing', but I'll save the music for tantric massages!

its not that serious, I been doing erotic massages since I first began escorting. Men here love the naughty 'erotic massage' thing whether you know what you're doing or not, which is why so many of them exist in the states. Never been told I didnt know what I was doing  ;D, but I picked up a great read anyway just to learn a bit more of it, and am even thinking of attending massage classes  :-\

Btw Joeey, speaking as someone who knows a thing or two about websites, your site is VERY hi-res. Some people are going to find it difficult to use. According to some stats websites I use, almost 50% of browsers use 1024 x 768 screen resolution...

On the plus side, though - the site looks fantastic and you are FIT ;)

Probably bit daft for me to comment since I am not your target clientele lol.  I do like the wording but find cock shots a total turnoff.  Of course that this is me speaking out of a purely female perspective if I were ever considering booking a male escort ? pics like that would make me leave the site straight away as I would think he is all wrong for me ? I look for someone with more subtlety ? guess I am more brains over brawns type of gal.  Anyway, what matters if what guys like and might be de rigeur for a gay clientele.  But I don?t really like full frontal nudity for female escorts either nor do I go for porno type pouty pics anyhow.  The site design seems a fairly bland utilitarian template but perhaps men prefer that.  Anyway, the real indicator is if men like it after all they are the ones hopefully making your phone ring red hot.  Good luck!

I used to use that, but when I first bought my laptop which is under Vista...It was pre-set to 1280x760 so I ended up sticking with it thinking thats the default. I actually like 1280x760 because Im the type who goes to movie theaters and sits in the middle...not too close to the screen and not too far so things arent so huge LOL

Right, so basically its the polar opposite...Most (gay) men expect that. If not its like "ok why not?" in addition the websites Im on promote picture ads of naked men advertising all over the place. One is better off hiding their face while naked, then showing their face without any cock pics LOL. Although I much rather show my face, I just dont feel right not showing my face.

Then again, it goes both ways. At one point I never showed any nude pics....but as time went on if I didnt I'd get the "can you email me some..." and invariably I'd do it, or risk loosing it. It wasnt a matter of them being TW for asking, some did book when sent a picture...many more turned out to be Wankers so thats when I decided to just start posting them

That's fine, but your visitors are still having to scroll two ways and no-one likes that. You didn't make the site just for you to look at, did you?

Couldn't have put it better myself. When browsing websites, people are *lazy*, so you always want to make sites as easy to use as possible. If not they may well flick onto something else...

Absolutely not, no...I thought that 1280x760 was the way most new computers are having it nowadays, because my computer was pre-set to that pixel and its a windows vista. Are y'all having alot of difficulty in scrolling around?  :o

the website is just an extension of whats already being shown online...my regular profiles are on the main escort sites, they're not going to flick to someone else just because of my website is higher res, thats RIDICULOUS...They may not read the whole thing (who does anyway) but its there for info...

oh, I found something....The latest statistics from W3 Schools indicate that 69% of users are viewing websites at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels or higher in (July 2005). While the trend is certainly moving towards larger displays, 25% of users are still using 800 x 600 displays. Before you move forward with your giant, 1024 x 768 award-winning site design, realize that 1 in 4 people will not see the whole page. These same people will probably be so annoyed with scrolling horizontally that they will leave your site and not come back. We don?t want that, do we?

BAM!!!! shit people, upgrade your shit! bigger is better!

It doesn't matter what resolution you use, or what resolution we use, we're not your customers. Why don't you install something like google analytics and find out for yourself? Unless you're not interested in attracting visually impaired customers or those browsing on netbooks or older computers, you should take screen resolution into account.

Hi Joey,

Very nice site!...only a little point of observation with regard the resolution.

I use both FF & IE at 1024x768 but your site drops off to the right of the window

Easily fixed though, adjust the style sheet div control to 100% instead of a fixed width, that should do it!

Also, SEO stuff, cannot see where your search engine tags are, title, meta, keywords, description? Unless your not really concerned about these.

Your pics are ace! good lighting and also, the faq was cool...say it as it is why don't you!...lol

I'm nearly done with my escort link directory, just finishing off as we speak at 01:14hrs GMT

Hope all is well with you!

Thanks Rick for the tip...I tried to change it to 1024x768 but it was just such a hassle trying to resize the whole thing all over. In addition, its a flash based site so I cant set anything to 100% or 'fit for all'. Also, with moonfruit I believe the ladies said something about it doesnt register on search engines simpply because its flash based. Im not much concerned with being found on search engines anyways as most of my clients come from only the main sites, and the website is there for informational purposes only, not to advertise or get more exposure as the main sites does most of the work for me.

Ok I'm tipsy, tired, and ready for bed but check out my site now I changed most of it to 1024x768 thats the smallest Im going I cant read anything smaller as Im using widescreen and dont care to make it that small as most comps use widescreen these days.

2 pages are missing, but Im so exhausted I'll save it for tomorrow

Joey's using flash, not HTML.

Also, SEO stuff, cannot see where your search engine tags are, title, meta, keywords, description? Unless your not really concerned about these.
I shouldn't worry too much about that. The googlebot doesn't really pay much attention to them, as it works that stuff out on it's own, and as Google is the dominant search engine by FAR, you shouldn't have much problem. As you are building a Flash site, and that tends to throw some search engines off, have a read of the following http://www.peachpit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=454163 (http://www.peachpit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=454163)

Title: Re: New website nearly completed, comments anyone?
Post by: UrbaneAspects on 01 March 2009, 06:25:33 am
bots are computerized people who randomly request information from you. They can track your email address and send it to spammers. On one popular dating website, bots would instant message users saying something generic like, "wow you're hot", or "hello how are you today?" Once the user responded it would send an instant message back of some fuck-porn site for the person to visit and the conversation would cease right there.
Title: Re: New website nearly completed, comments anyone?
Post by: Anika Mae on 01 March 2009, 11:24:44 am
Bots are scripts that do things on the internet (online robots). Search spiders are a type of bot, and they're how search engines find stuff to index, so people can search for it. They can read things in your html that don't show up to a person looking at the website, but they can't read flash. It's possible to add a bunch of html to make a flash site search-engine friendly, but without that the bots won't have any idea what you're about. I don't know what options moonfruit gives you to deal with this.

Directories are great, but don't write off the idea of getting onto google. I didn't think much about it, but I'd picked up a little SEO knowledge through years of being a big internet geek, so applied that to my site. This is less stuff than you'll find out in a quick chat with one of the SEO folks who float around the forums, but after a while I got to the top 10 in google for some good searches and I do get clients direct from google.

Also, for you small browser users  :D  Im putting the link to my website up again, are y'all able to read it on your screens now?

Hey y'all; so I re-did my site from scratch, going along the basis of my old one. It is so much easier to read! I resized it quite a bit and comparing it with my old site, its well over 40 Megabytes smaller than my old one so probably opens much quicker.

Thanks for your critiques you all. I had no idea how to make a site, and now with research I've gotten better with it. Thankyou
