INCALLS
« on: 05 December 2007, 01:08:19 pm »
Hello,
Okay.  It would seem that deciding to become an escort was actually the easy decision.  It's all the other bits that are complicated.

Initially I thought I would only do outcalls.  However, I've since changed my mind and would like to offer in calls because I want to work during the day and I think I'd feel safer and much more in control of the situation.  Initially I thought my home would be fine but since reading some of the other threads on this forum not really sure that's such a good idea.  I share my home with my husband and daughter, and although they are both out during the day, I think there are too many things that could happen as a result of a client knowing where you live.  Plus I want my home to feel like a home - I don't want to have to keep personal things kept away such as photos etc.

What are the other options?

Booking somewhere like a hotel yourself (places like Travelodge are very cheap when booked in advance)...

... or renting somewhere for work, either exclusively or subletting from someone (this has legal implications for them - once more than one person is working somewhere, even if not at the same time, it becomes a brothel: illegal to own, run or permit in premises you control, but not to work in or visit)...

... or, if you have enough money, buying somewhere for work...

... or working in a brothel, including for an agency that supplies flats (for an extra cut).

People do outcalls during the day of course.

Oh, to be able to buy somewhere to work - that would be fab but not financially viable at the moment.

When you say rent, do you mean literally rent a flat but only use it for work?

Also, where would I find out about sub-letting - where are these wg's likely to advertise? - as you can tell this is all new to me.

I started quite recently and had the same questions. On a friend's advice I started work in a parlour and that solved all the problems in one go. I didn't have to find a place to work, I didn't need to advertise and get a website, I didn't need to worry about security, and my photo doesn't appear anywhere so I am completely anonymous (very important to me). Of course I don't know how you feel about it but working in a parlour suits me fine.... Take care, tasha.

Yes. Be warned that if you tell them it's for work, they will tend to either say 'no' or put the rent up to something silly (and/or want freebies).

Fortunately there's a serious oversupply of small flats in some places.

I've spotted comments about wanting someone here and on other message boards.

Yes, all good reasons to consider parlour work. There are more on the main site.

The other side is that it can be very different from escorting. Typically, you have many shorter sessions in a shift, rather than a few longer ones spread out over several days, for example. (Conversely, if it's quiet, you've been stuck somewhere rather than being able to get on with other things in your life.) You're working with other people, so it helps if you get on well with them. Finally, not everyone likes working for someone else, with their schedule, rules and price list.

As ever, it works really well for some people - it's particularly good for those who want a complete separation between the work/not-work parts of their life - while others would hate it.

xw5 - Yes of course there is an upside and downside to everything. The parlour suits me for all the reasons I mentioned. I have a laugh with the other girls and learn from the more experienced ones. I feel safe and (most important) anonymous. I would hate working alone and think it would be terribly lonely. But its just my choice. I can quite imagine some girls would hate parlour work for all the reasons you gave........ Merry Xmas all..... Tasha.
