Phew what a day!

I went to my ex's after my college interview and told him about AW and asked him if he'd be ok to take some pics of me for a gallery. I then decided what they heck and told him everything. Although he's a little apprehensive he called me a daft head for worrying that he wouldn't want to talk to me again. So he's very happy to take my pictures and even help with a few videos  ;D

Also, got my activation email through and will be uploading some pictures we took earlier.

Just wondering, would it be better for me to blot out my face and should I do that on both the public and the private pictures?

Blur/crop out your face. You're just getting started and there's plenty of time to rethink when you've settled into the job, but once those pictures are online you lose the option. It's unlikely you'll be a prostitute forever or even very long if it doesn't suit you, and these things can come back years later and bite you on the arse.

There are threads dotted over the board about showing your face, as well as this article here  :).

Thankyou to all of the responses, you really are an extremely helpful forum  :)

I'm still trying to set up my profile on AW although I've had one hit already. The guy had no profile details and last updated his profile back in 2008 so I'm not sure if I will reply. Think he might just be a time waster

The majority of guys on there have no profile details and do not update their profiles. It does not mean they are not genuine sweetie. Check his feedback before deciding to reply or not

The vast majority of punters on AW do not fill in profile details, don't worry. They tend to just join, complete the absolute bare minimum and look for what they want; there is no reason for them to write about themselves really, since they are not the ones trying to get business (and I doubt this will change much in the light of the new scheme where the desperados can seek out their profiles and spam them to death).

What you ought to be looking out for is feedback from reputable ladies. You shouldn't go too far wrong then  :).

(in other words, what Danielle said)

Er, does that mean you verified your profile? Did you send a picture? If so be careful, that goes straight in your public gallery...

Hiya luv

I must congratulate you on doing loads of research. I went indie from a parlour so it was a bit different. I could never work from home tho' I was doing a phone chat tonite & I just happened to look out of the window & my nephew & his girlfriend were walking up my drive aaaagggghhh!!!

There are some cheap hotel deals going & at least you know people wont just "pop in". Lol. Would your ex be a driver for you do you think? If you start with outcalls & build up a bit of money then you can look for an incall place. All your work clothes, toys, condoms, batteries, refreshments, towels, shoes etc keep receipts no matter how cheap or expensive.

Great to have a buddylink up. I find the less people in your private life know what you do the better.

Good luck, be careful, & take care.

You may be able to afford a carpet soon.  ;D Then you will see the results of your labours!! That's really good when you can buy something out of your hard earned cash. It wont all be rainbows you will have some thunderstorms but put it down to experience.

Luv Kate xx

Sorry, my blonde roots are starting to come through again (time to go get the dye kit)  ;D

I forgot to mention that he no feedback at all, nothing good nothing bad just nothing.

I have just realised like a twit that my feet have started moving before my brain fully kicks in. I cannot drive and my ex doesn't drive so I might have to bite the bullet and take the risk of accepting in calls. Thankfully from reading the main site and spending alot of time reading forum threads I will make sure that I look for good reviews from other girls before accepting.

On the plus side, I bumped into a friend earlier today who after hearing me ramble on and on about this has said that she would be happy to come to mine and look out for me. She doesn't look intimidating but that girl has got a bloody good mouth on her when yelling.

Back to the subject of the gentleman with no feedback. I have replied to his initial mail directing him to my profile which has the relevent details for costs and making a booking. I will see if he makes a booking. His mail did seem very polite, short and to the point and not a hint of text speak.

I get most of my clients from Adultwork, despite it being a bit of a, er, murky swamp of a site, but it definitely requires a solid Booking Procedure (one you've made up, which may or may not include AW's booking requests) and a patient, steady head. Make sure to tell them that you'll need a confirmation call (at least 1 hour-ish?) before the appointment - this is so you don't bother getting ready for a guy who was never even planning to call, let alone show up! - and I also require a call once they're nearby for the precise directions to my incall location. I don't think it's advisable to give out your address to everyone who emails you on AW, obviously. I tend to treat all initial-contacters the same: I kinda assume they're timewasters or that the appointment won't work out, though I'm happy to pencil them in and be perfectly polite and obliging basically until I've had a phone-conversation with them and they've followed all my calling instructions and proven themselves somewhat reliable and serious about their appointment. At the end of the day, you can still get that last-minute text, "Oh noes my wife is home I mean I'm stuck at the office er soz"  or whatever, even if he was planning to be totally genuine but just got frightened at the last minute or whatever.

So yeah, always be nice and polite, of course, but I usually assume he's a timewaster until he actually calls from the nearby location and I can hear the station-announcer voice in the background! This technique may sound a bit jaded and whatnot but I don't care, it's saved me ages of entertaining endless email-chats and text-chats of incessant questions about the "booking" the guy is "totally going to make", and means that I usually know enough in advance that someone's going to cancel or no-show that I can swap in a real booking from a regular or just ditch silly work and go out with my friends, which is a lot less stressful!
