I had a guy call today who had found me on this android app on his phone http://www.naughtycities.com/ It says it is for iphones too but I can't find this as an iphone app.

If you click 'I am the owner' then you get the marvelous option of paying a fortune to have your picture on as well, as if. I cant stand that they have taken my details without my permission, though of course it could bring some clients one's way, though the guy that called today obviously couldn't see pics, rates or anything, and ended up being my first no show in over a year of working (but that is for another thread), so that does put me off keeping my details there, though possibly unjustifiably so.

What are your thoughts?

Also, the guy who called you could possibly (not sure what chance, possibly small) have just been trying to advertise the app to service providers by pretending he's one of the "millions" of clients who will want to see you if you buy an ad on the site. I'm sure I've heard of something like that happening before - but as I said, may well not be the case. It's impossible to know, unfortunately.

Ugh. Might be time I made a mobile version of my site. Since apparently it's The Future, and all. Tsk.

I don't mind my number and details being out there ( most of the time ) as I don't see anyone who hasn't visited my website and knows exactly what my rates and services are.

I have discovered later that sometimes- to make a quick date- they tell porkies and haven't actually viewed my site at all.
No matter - I always confirm my rate over the phone and ask if they have any special requests before booking?

If they say no - and then later claim they were SURE i swung from the chandeliers dressed as Maria Von-Trapp- it's just  tough I'm afraid..

I suppose as an Indie we have to field many more calls this way, but it doesn't take a moment to close the call and text your website to them.

When a guy can peruse at his own leisure, he often comes back a couple of weeks later to book

First of all I would like to thank you all for your interest. I don?t want to waist your time trying to promote our app so let?s go straight to the answers

 

1)     We have nothing to do with the individual that contact ?Jem?. We have never given such authority to anyone ,  in all the cites we have on our app.  I think it is pretty obvious that is bad publicity for us  .

2)     Our only effort to contact ,  to each of the naughty places and naughty services listed on our app ,  is a confirmation email we sent once informing you about the listing and asking to confirm. This way we give you the chance to add anything you think as a description for free and also correct any mistakes we might have. Please do check your inbox and I am sure you will find it.

3)     We have been the only adult application published on itunes (http://www.xbiz.com/news/mobile/136231  ) . Unfortunately we have been deleted because of our content. We are  now adding our app in alternative iphone markets  so that Iphone users will have access to our app (http://www.xbiz.com/news/mobile/136539 )
