Hi girls,
So, I was wondering, if any of you have time could you please give me some advice on what is probably a very trivial matter indeed ;)
A new girl has started in my area with a very similar escort name to mine and I'm pretty pissed about it tbh. I'm mainly upset cos when I started out I trawled through the profiles of the girls in my area and choose my name accordingly. My escort name is made up of two names (both derived from films I like ;D) and this newbie has chosen the same first name and a rather similar second one. We are also both redheads....
There is not really much I can do...it is a free country after all! But am I a really shallow person for being so annoyed with her?! My instincts kinda tell me that yes, I am! I know there are a trillion more important things going on at saafe at playing to be my ego should not be one of them, but I'd like to hear your thoughts if you have any anyway!!!

You definately have the right to be annoyed, I know I and many others would be after all our name is our brand.

If you do decide to email her remember to stress that the name confusion will damage BOTH of you. It's in her own best interests to have a unique name so try to make your message 'helpful' rather that accusing her of name stealing.

Not close at all. My name is Dani and when I started I chose the name as there were none in my area. I did have a surname but found that a few new girls joined and used the same first and surname as me but just put an x next to it. Talk about annoyed. Now that is close but first names are hard to find that are not already in use so as long as the second name is totally different dont worry about it.
After all I was dani delight and then there were three other girls will the same name after a year or so but with xx or x or _xx. That is what I call being alike.
I am now dani gold and now there are a few girls who have decided to change their surname to the same as mine :FF
Nothing to do about it but suck it up. IN another few months there will be yet another girl with the same first name as you. Its because there are only so many names suitable for an escort after all you would not see many called ethel or Paual or any other normal names although no idea why

i put the B on mine for as there are lots of escorts that work under the name of Paris so having the B just make it a bit more easy to recognise me

I can certainly commiserate... I had a fabulous nickname "curvy crumpet" but about a year later I started getting emails from clients telling me that there were 3 other CC around too now all of a sudden. When I had a look at their profiles they had set theirs months after mine up. Yes it pissed me off but what can we do?
I just changed my name again and have noticed a few with similarities again but hey ho, I take it as my reputation will preceed any other wannabe's.

I have always worked under the name Natalie Natalie Brown Natalie b and Natalie 40ff since i started even when i worked in
brothels i had to be Natalie as even if they named me Chloe etc i would still refer to myself as Natalie and confuse the clients lol
realistically there are only so many names to go around . Maybe we should start using middle names as well >.<
I only started advertising on the internet in 2009 and never bothered to see if anyone was using the same name as me as i have used
mine since the late 80's
( what i am trying to say is she may have been using the name just as long as you or longer but advertising in a different area /place

lots of the names i see on the internet girls used to use years ago especially ones with innuendos but sometimes people have the
same ideas with out copying or havent done research to see if some one is using the same one ie id i had looked and some one was
using the same name as me from 2006 i would feel it is still MY name as i have used it longer and why should i give it up ?

I'd say this shows the actions of a pimp, and it's probably a complete coincidence. Keep her saved to your hotlist though, just in case.

When I was choosing my name the first thing I did was check that the domain name was available for purchase. After that I just sort of stuck a pin in a list.

I also chose amelie because i love the film, and used to have a black bob, but I've been using it working as a stripper, and as an escort in another area for the last 3 years. [removed] is my middle name.
Just a coincidence. (and good taste in films!)

I never said you stole it, but you could of done your research a little better. It was a client who flagged you to me, someone who apparently knows you from a past life as a brunette with sunglasses??!! Anyway, what is done is done now and as someone recently mentioned in this thread..[removed] and Cleo are different, so no worries.
As for saying in the email that you sent me that I should of contacted you first, then maybe you are right, but I wanted to ask the advice of other girls first because I felt I was maybe overreacting. as it turns out, I kinda was, so I felt no need to contact you.
So all I can say now is that the matter is now closed as far as I'm concerned and good luck with your "first" clients. x

My advice is to not even bother looking at other ladies' profiles at all.

mmmm, I'm not sure I would agree with that advice. For stuff like B.B I use a lot of other ladies profiles as my security through the feedback clients have got from them (if that makes sense). If I recognise a name of a reputable escort in my area like Inka or Lanya or kinky then I now I'm safe e.t.c Otherwise I check out the profiles. It takes ages for me to decide on a new client and hence I'm not very busy!! I'm pretty sure my system is not fool-proof, but so far so good. ;)

The area you work in is huge, I don't think you working under a similar name is an issue at all. Since she didn't steal your pics or profile content (and also clearly didn't mean to) it's no big deal really. I also think it's unfair people assume she has a pimp just because she has face pictures that's the kind of rubbish accusation that punting forums throw around.

Then I retract my post about it being a pimp that set up your profile, and I'd like to advise that - if you haven't already - you should remove the pic that shows your full and real ID (and face pic). Unless of course you're happy for potentially millions of people seeing all this :)

I was going on the info that her full ID was in full view. If I've read that wrong, then I apologise. If she really HAS got her full ID (passport etc) on display, then that usually is the actions of a pimp, their haste to get profiles verified often means you see full passport or ID card details uploaded to the main profile pics.
