What is it really like to work in a parlour?
« on: 16 July 2007, 11:17:20 pm »
I have been working independently from my own flat for the past few weeks, using Adultwork to get guys. It has been ok, but I did wonder if it would be better to work from a parlour. I don't really like using my own flat, I worry about punters coming back and ringing my bell, and sometimes it feels horrible that strange men have been in "my space".
I just wondered what it is like to work in a parlour, I have read the stuff on here, but I wondered what the money is like?
For instance, if you work a ten hour shift will you be busy all that time, or is there a chance that you will only see a couple of guys?
Do you have to work for the whole time the parlour is open, or can you just do a few hours there?
Do they always keep half the money?
Could I keep my adultworker ad going saying where I am to drum up interest?
Does anyone know of any good ones in Berkshire?
I would appreciate any comments, thanks.

Parlours work in different ways some take a percentage others take a fixed amount from ALL  clients you see there regardless of how they came to the parlour and it would not be in yours or the parlours interest to treat clients that came to see you via aw any differently from other clients as it would lead to problems with the other staff their.

Also you would simply be sacked for drinking if you had to continue your need for several glasses of wine to work as reputable parlors have strict rules on drugs and booze - I have both worked in and run a parlor and have had to sack a girl for drinking on the job as well as one being high.

the only way to find out what working in a parlour is really like is to try it out, if you dont like it you can always not go back or at the end of your shift just let them know
parlours are not allways busy at all times ,sometimes they have quiet days and sometimes not
i have also worked in a parlour but it was badly run so therfore only stayed a few weeks
they mainly work shifts so if you are booked to work an 8 hour shift then thats what you will be doing
with regards to the money side of things that is something you will have to ask as not all parlours work the same
also have a look in the back of the free papers loot etc... to get numbers of the parlours in your area
good luck
and remember they have to take money from you to pay the housekeeping advertsing etc...

Using your own home is usually a bad idea. You've already discovered one reason (your boundaries) and there's a good thread somewhere here with more.

Brothels vary a lot. Some are clean and secure, others are dirty and don't care about your safety.

As part of deciding, have a look at some of the reviews on sites like Punternet of places near you, both the good ones and the bad. Ring some you like the sound of and ask questions. Be aware that they may be reluctant to talk about some 'service' issues (like do they insist on oral being 'with' or 'without', or is it up to you) on the phone, because of the laws around running brothels.

How busy you'd be varies. If it's quiet, then depending on the place's charges, it's quite possible to go home with less than the receptionist. If it's busy, you can indeed be 'off your feet' a lot.

There is one other aspect I wonder if you'd have difficult coping with: some places do line-ups or other 'in person' ways of letting clients pick who they want. These can be tough to cope with for most people, particularly the issues of rejection when someone else is picked.
