New... Do's and Don'ts
« on: 02 March 2016, 11:53:28 am »
Hi  :)

After deliberating over this for some months now I've decided to dip my toes into the world of escorting. I've done cam work but I'm unsure of how best to start as an escort.

What would people do differently if they had a chance to start again?

Is it best to fly solo from the start, on AWork etc, or approach agencies and gain some experience. If possible I want to avoid working in a parlour.

Thanks for reading

Alex

I would not have entertained the seemingly endless stream of men who contacted me in the first few weeks of my profile appearing who clearly had no intention of booking.
All you need to know is date, time, duration, location, requests. Anything else is irrelevant.
Could have saved myself so many pointless conversations.

To be honest I don't think I would have done anything differently.

I've been indie from the start. I've changed a few things since starting - my rates, available services etc, but that's just figuring things out as you go along.

Like most of us I wish I hadn't given timewasters the time of day, but to be honest I really think that's just part of the learning curve.  You soon start to learn who's taking the piss and who isn't.

Trust. Your. Instincts.  If it doesn't feel right it probably isn't.  Decide what your boundaries are and stick to them, good clients will respect them. And always ALWAYS get the money first!!

I would have probably started when I was younger, been abit more careful about who I told and more careful about what I told clients about myself.I also wouldn't have let some clients be as manipulative about extra time and boundary pushing.

If you haven't already done so read the main site, once, twice and thrice: www.saafe.info.  Theres loads of threads on this topic too, just use the search box on top right hand corner

Hi Alex and welcome to SAAFE

Just to emphasise what Jezebel's said, the main SAAFE site ahould be your first port of call and the forum is really just an offshoot. There are lots of startup articles for newbies there, and once you've got a basic idea you can bring the more specific questions back here :).

I would not tell anyone. Told a few friends, and most haven't betrayed me, but two of them did and from just those two people it can spread so far. I'm not ashamed but wanted to keep my personal life and working life seperate.

Don't forget to do regular blogs.  Also remember to do feedback to build up a history.

I'll check out the forum in more detail and look to keep updated on the progress.

It's partly my fault for not reading more thoroughly in the first place, but I should really point out that if you're not prepared to see male clients, the only thread you need to read is this one:

Oh crap! Is the OP a guy?
In that case, this whole thing is irrelevant. He's unlikely ever to get any work with female clients.
