What to say at The Gum?!

This is probably a really stupid question, but is it in your best interests to tell the gum clinic that you're a sex worker?I just ask as I'm not really sure I'd be comfortable with them knowing. I have an appointment on Tuesday... :P

Being honest means that you can get the best treatment. If you get any crap - and you very probably won't: many places have special sex work services - then complain.

If you can't tell them, then at least be honest about your behaviour.. just leave out the involvement of cash.

In my opinion: as you're training to be a nurse I would leave the "PAID" out of it. As XW5 said: "at least be honest about your behaviour.. just leave out the involvement of cash".

Definitely do NOT tell them. You will be looking over your shoulder all the time at work being paranoid that you'll bump into one of the nurses or doctors you meet at the clinic - I told the first clinic I went to and ended up on a placement for six months in that hospital  :o Before my escorting I used to be in an open relationship where I knew my boyfriend was having sex elsewhere, which I was fine with cos I was on depression medication that lowered my sex drive, and I understood he had 'needs', so that's what I say when I go to the clinic. It's good as a sex worker to get throat swabs (if you offer owo), and some clinics won't routinely do this, unless you tell them you're a sex worker, so I use the boyfriend sleeping around excuse and say that I give him unprotected oral, so ask for a throat swab to be 'extra safe', and ask for an anal swab too if you offer anal.x

A bisexual boyfriend and/or swinging are other good ones.

Yes my friend who is a nurse told the clinic that she was into swinging in a big way. So that could be a good thing to say.
Also my friend who is a civil servant said the same.

I really would not disclose anything, once to tell you can't untell.  Medical records etc in your profession I would not take that chance.
