Why would the BA care how many hotels you booked?

Pre paid cards are really expensive plus some hotels will charge your card for an extra amount and it can be a while before they release the funds - like car hire companies.

Fluffy bunny. Yes, they don't ask for I.D but they check your name and address  to verify your identity, which you fill out, on the online application form.   If you read the terms and conditions of these cards, it clearly points out you need to provide your correct information or they can report you to fraud departments, and even cancel your card. This is why you have  a high limit of up to 5000 because they have already verified your identity by giving them your details (name / address). So they don't need to see you I.D, they ask for I.D if the details that you give them don't match up with credit agencies.

The IDT prime card you can buy it in-store has a yearly credit limit of ?300 per year and I assume other card that you can buy in store  are also the same because they have to follow regulations that prevent fraud / money laundering. If you want that lifted you, have to go online and provide them with your name and address.

Prime is amazing, and I think it's the cheapest fees. At ?5/card, .50 reload per ?100 (if you do it at the post office) and a 2% transaction fee or something like that I won't complain if I have to buy a few of them every year...to pay for advertising in my work name ;)

I think there's also a "payoneer" card, which you can withdraw adultwork credits onto and use online. Not sure about transaction fees and whether you can load it at a paypoint the same way as you would a prime card.

I just bought one yesterday in a newsagent, was Prime prepaid card, didn't ask for Id or anything and when I register online didn't have any problems either just filled out a fake name and dob, and tested it today in tesco and costa easy to use, maybe it's different from the normal credit card after all cause you can only use it when there money in it.

UPDATE:  Prime card is now tightening up their security on these cards.

1. It used to be you could load the card with up to 400 quid its now been reduced to 200 quid.

2.  You are now only limited to one card ONLY with the option of reloading which you will need your real details to proof your identity.

I have always used this card to pay for my website hosting and escort advertising under a pseudo name for the last 4 years, buying multiple cards over the years for this purpose only for them to flag me this morning about sending proof of ID etc I am  FCUKED.

So if you register under your real details you will be fine!

Went over to the website for FF...and they ask for a passport number/ID number to sign up.

So what's the hack way to get it without ID?

Where they ask for your passport just say you dont have one, that is what I did and I had no problem and I did that about a month ago. So no hack just completed the form and it went through, everybody worries about the ID but you do not need to provide it it is not a pre requisite.

Fab you are welcome, the website is fabulous and it is very easy to manage your account online.  I found it better than Cashplus  ;)

If you are looking to use the card for online spending rather than cash storage I have to recommend visa and MasterCard gift cards prepay cards without the hassle or hidden fees, can buy from bigger boots stores or some supermarkets (try larger Sainsbury stores)

Applied for a ffrees card last night using my working name but real address, signed up online and did what fluffy bunny suggested, say nope to passport/ Id ect and application went through ..hurray!!

But then I received this email this morning:

Thanks for applying for a Ffrees Account! We?re eager to get you up and running with a Ffrees Card, but we need a bit more information before we can do that.

Please pick one original item from List A and a copied version of an item from List B. Don?t worry if you don?t have anything from List B, just send two original items from List A. Please note that the List A items can?t be older than 3 months, or printed from the internet.

List A ? please pick one item that?s been valid for at least 3 months:

Council tax bill (current financial year)
Home telephone bill
Electricity or gas bill
Bank statement
DWP correspondence (benefits entitlement letter)
Written confirmation of electoral roll registration

List B ? please pick one item that is valid and not expired
UK driving licence
Passport photo page
National identity card
Please send these documents to us

The main reason I wanted a pre paid credit card in the first place was to pay for my website unanimously. Nominet, the ones who run the UK domain family  introduced their data quality policy in May 015 and will suspend your website unless you provide them with ID and proof of address . It is now a legal requirement!! which is such a pain in the god damn arse, I would actually say yay to being sodomized by a Shetland-pony for a week in exchange for eternal anonymity. Unless I'm being a bimbotic drama queen and there is in fact an answer??
