My first booking - advice needed
« on: 28 February 2025, 10:12:55 pm »
I’ve just booked in my first client through adult work. But his profile is empty, is this normal? Is there a way I need to go about making sure he’s who he says he is?

Punters having empty profiles on AW is totally normal - don't worry! They don't have to promote themselves or appeal to anyone, so there's no reason for them to fill it in (and when you see some of the ones who did, you'll wish they all left it like that ;D).

Is your booking an outcall? There isn't any reason to know who a punter is otherwise, and whilst it would be possible for somebody to make a booking so their friend can go along I don't think it happens much (if they're using the booking system I don't think they'd want to risk getting bad feedback, if nothing else).

There are quite a few threads and posts about screening if you do a search :)

Thank you for responding! I’m much more reassured now  :)

For me I think it is reassuring enough that someone went through the hoops to join AW and make the booking through there. They ALMOST always turn up. In fact, it is so reliable that this is my favourite way to take booking from new clients.

When it comes to AW booking I reply and confirm using the AW messaging system with directions and my tel no.
It is worth checking your SEND messages because it shows if and when someone reads the messages that you send.

What I have found is the few times people HAVE NOT shown up after making an AW booking they also did not read my reply to them - I must stress this is a small number.
What I sometimes do now that I am aware of this is I will send a brief, discrete text telling them I have sent them a message about our booking at XX o'clock via the AW messaging system.

Some of the guys use AW (have old profiles and lots of feedback) but never read their AW messages - strange!

I had the same opinion as you for a long time, but in the last 2 years I have received a lot of last minute cancellations and a lot of no shows from AW members with a lot of feedback. That's why I have already opted for a small deposit policy for new clients. So far it works well.
