There are better ways of doing it though. It would not be difficult (for which read I could do it - I am quite technically inclined) to build a database website that would display a masked number. Ie, the number might be full in the database, but would only display as 0448 xxx-1235 on the site so that the telephone number is protected, but would be recognised by those that have actually been contacted by the client. A search by the full telephone number would still be searching the database and so would only bring up that specific entry. Likewise we could mask the surname so that anybody contacted by the client might see a description followed by the firstname, and would therefore recognise the listing, and could then search by surname/email or telephone number to confirm that it is the cliient. All actual client details would be protected from all but those actually contacted by the client, and the site admins (and the same applies here really, because if you know what you are doing an admin on a board like this could easily read any PM sent by anybody as I am sure you know, so obviously such a thing relies on the scruples of the administrator - which I don't doubt for a second
)
It would also be quite possible to have such a website regularly harvest the RSS feeds that are provided by boards such as this one (which I assume is what the
centralised warnings page does.) And insert each item into the database in an organised fashion.
I was thinking the other night that it would probably be possible to write a form mailer that which could be easily installed on an escorts website that will take the clients details, and automatically query it against the database, and then include any direct matches in the email the escort. So the escort would get an email something like this
You have recieved an email from a prospective client via your website.
Your email address has not yet been revealed but will be if you reply to this message.
A search has revealed no punterlist (or whatever) matches.
Message body:
<<Clients message here>>
or
You have recieved an email from a prospective client via your website.
Your email address has not yet been revealed but will be if you reply to this message.
A search has revealed the following punterlist matches.
Link one (matches email, telephone)
Link two (matches telephone)
Message body:
<<Clients message here>>
the escort would then be able to read the matched listings and make an informed decision him/herself. This is all just speculation of course, but as I am new to this and am wary about my safety I would be keen to seem something like this, from a personal point of view largely because there are no warnings boards for gay male escorts, but like I say - it could be done better and also made
a. free
and
b. used by both male and female.
