Migrant selling sex in the UK?
« on: 18 May 2007, 06:26:36 pm »
SEEKING PEOPLE TO INTERVIEW

We are a gay man and a bi woman researching how migrants travelled and found jobs in the UK sex industry. The aim of the research is to understand more about the opportunities and problems people have in their jobs, in order to influence UK debates on migration and commercial sex.

In one-hour long INFORMAL TALKS (in person), we would like to hear your stories of leaving home, finding a job and place to live and how you like living in the UK. NO TAPE RECORDING. Complete ANONYMITY and CONFIDENTIALITY guaranteed. Meetings in SAFE public places like cafes, at your convenience.

We are sorry to be unable to pay you but will buy coffees and cakes. This is ethical academic research with government funding and by experienced researchers. By participating you will help BREAK THE STIGMA against migrants who sell sex.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR dancers, phone sex workers, escorts, barmen, bouncers, drivers and anyone else who has a paying job in a sex business. Our target is Greater London - but if you work mainly elsewhere and make visits to London that's fine.

You can be women, men, transsexuals,  transgenders or intergenders. Any age, from any country and any type of workplace, or independent.

To know more about this work you can look at http://www.nodo50.org/conexiones/Laura_Agustin/

The project email address is migrationsexresearch@googlemail.com or you may write to me, Laura Agust?n at laura@nodo50.org

We can provide references from independent escorts and collaborate with the International Union of Sex Workers (part of the GMB in the UK).
