[I've tried searching for this but had no luck - the phrases are too broad it seems so if anyone knows of an old post, please turn me in that direction]

Has anyone who tried to book you told you he found you on a site you don't advertise on? If so, how do you handle it? Do you see that client?

Supposed to have a booking tomorrow with someone who apparently found me on a site that I'm 100% sure I'm not on - I tried googling all the different permutations of my name, number, site etc and nothing

I know that sometimes punters won't remember where they found you - which is fair enough, that's why that bit on my booking form is not required so I find it odd that someone would fill in a site that I'm not on... He's supposed to call tomorrow to confirm so I'll try to get a feel for him with more questions than I would normally ask, any advice?

They say that all the time.they forget...or can't be arsed to tell.
The my just want to move the conversation on to the booking.
A couple if sites I hate which I reject clients if they say im.on them.... gum.and viva.

I check to see if my profile's stolen when any alien sites mentioned by callers quite handy sometimes.
Give him.some hoops.

Thank you, that's helpful to know they do it often so probably not much to worry about! Just to check, by hoops do you mean hoops to jump through as in questions? 😅

Cool! Yes I normally ask heaps of questions normally anyways.

Very often the say they see my ad on 'the web' or 'google'.
They don't want the discussion as its meaningless to them.

I don't see guys who mention Viva, Gum as they haven't read my site or know my prices and they're on the creepy side.
I'm not even on those directories.

I'm not sure its anything to worry about....go with your gut.

Just the other day I had a call and he asked was I available. I asked who he was calling and he didn't know my name. Told him I needed to know he had the correct person etc. so asked where he found my details. Vivastreet. Told him I am not on there which is true.  Things went from bad to worse so I told him in a polite way that he wasn't very good at this contact thing so I could not meet him.

He then texted saying am sorry.

He could have been genuine but I dismiss anyone who I have the slightest doubt about. I err a long way on the side of caution and therefore get my time wasted so seldom that it is not an issue whatsoever.

I get it fairly often. I normally direct them to my website and then tell them to call back if they'd still like to book.

Thank you for the clarification!

You're right, I just find it strange that he'd put in the effort to write that site when it's not a required field. Anyway, will still talk to him tomorrow and, unless I get a really good vibe, will probably reject him, the risk is not worth it.

You're absolutely right, it's always better to be cautious rather than to regret anything! Thank you, this cleared my head a bit -  feel I've been overthinking things lately but I'll just go with my gut.

Yep, I would normally do so as well but the request came through my site, it's just that he said he's found me on one where I don't advertise!

It's similar to the "I got your number off a friend"  ::) I just refer them to the adutwork site and do a search for my name and that I don't see people who haven't read my advert in full so after doing that feel free to call me to book. I don't have the patience to spoon feed my details.

Oh Christ, I get this. They tell me, "Backpage."

Sweetheart, Backpage has been deep sixed for almost 2 years now. Try again.
"Uh. One of those sites."

You're obviously a mental giant. It's not a crucial point in my screening, I just like to know, so I don't keep funneling $$ into sites if I'm not getting any sessions from them is all. But if this is how you're starting out, I bet you're not going to be able to give me what I need for screening🙄🙄.
