Something I've found that really helps for me is carrying around a personal vibrator. I use one like this http://www.bondara.co.uk/satisfyer-pro-2 - it's SO worth the money. Small enough to fit in the makeup bag I haul around with condoms/lube etc. I've used it at the beginning of a session as part of a mini 'show' type thing, it hits the spot for me that I only have to use a minimal amount of lube and my regulars really enjoy watching it. Bonus points that it makes the job easier for me  ;D

I know this isn't supposed to be a thread about personal favourite lube choices, because everyone's different, but I do have to say that KY jelly is fantastic. I think it's because it's primarily a medical product, created to imitate natural wetness - not a product designed to look like male cum or be strawberry favoured etc. Even though it's not that "sexy" a product clients always ask to keep mine / buy it off me as it does feel very natural and is PH balanced. For those of us that remember KY as being in those awful medical looking toothpaste type tubes  it isn't any more,it's in a small white plastic tube and looks fine.

Did you know there's an extra lubricated type of Skyn?
The skyn lubricated are great and don't go dry.
Never use any oil as it will make the condom useless - especially baby oil or coconut or the like.
Ann summers has lube that is compatible with Condoms but can cause vaginal problems - extra sensitivity/thrush etc
Like everything -  tried and tested and works is the best.
Don't believe everything a GP says - they are not always an expert in every field, especially when it comes to sex work. natural lubrication is unreliable - just as some of the guys we meet!!

Skyns are non latex so you can use coconut oil , it's the latex ones tha can't tolerate it.

No, you can't use coconut oil with polyisoprene condoms, including Skyns - it's even on their website. The only oil based lube which is OK is silicone.

However! Silicone lube is bad for silicone toys.

Like dissolves like.

Oil (baby, coconut, jojoba, motor, whatever) dissolves latex and some plastics (which originate in petroleum).

Silicone will dissolve silicone, but not latex or petrochemical materials. Silicone lube isn't actually oil.

Waterbased lube is safe for everything, although as stated elsewhere in the thread, it has other drawbacks.

If you're not irritated by water based lube, stick with that to remove any doubts about safety. If you're not irritated by silicone (as I am), then you can use it on skin or latex. But keep it away from your squishy toys, as they're made from silicone. If you love silicone lube and have a favourite silicone toy you like to use, you can protect it with a latex condom.

Sorbitol & Glycerin seem to be the main irritants for me in the lubricants I can't use.

I've just checked and you can use oil based products with non latex condoms.

this isn't true for all non latex. skyns CANNOT be used with oil.

the best lubes are sliquid and yes lube. every single lube in boots/ann summers/superdrug contains at least one of glycerin or parabens. These are very bad for your vagina. It's completely worth spending a bit more and getting a good water based lube.

Thanks for this Hadley.

I popped back to this thread as I'm currently suffering cystitis, most likely caused by being quite busy ( yay  :)) and using lube more frequently..and maybe using a syringe to get it deep hasn't helped either.. :-\

I use liquid silk lube usually and it hasn't given me problems previously.
But then, I didn't use it all the time previously ( it's an age thing  :'( )

I will grab some KY at the earliest..*Skulks off to fix next dose of 'cystitis relief, Cranberry flavour'*..xx

I rarely use lube on me but saw a client recently that had a big penis he kept trying to delay coming stopping and starting for ages and in between kept helping himself to lube every few minutes. I noticed the more lube kept going on i felt a bit sore stingy which i think was the lube keep being used because this client wanted it on constantly even though my vagina is not dry i produce quite a bit.

So i do feel a constant use of foreign substance going in us is probably not ideal.

I found a lot of reports/articles online agreeing some lubes can be very bad for you and can damage the vagina tissues and increased risks of getting BV and increased risks of catching STD's apparantely which i never even realised that considering so many sell lubes you assume they are very safe.

Also is states if you're lube does irritate or itch a bit a slight burn etc then not to use again as it does not agree with you and should not be used.

I also read you can use natural aloe as a lube as long as it is 100% pure no extra ingredients and it is much safer apparently.
