Lube - irritating and what my GP says
« on: 08 June 2018, 11:03:33 am »
I and others on here have asked questions about best lubes on here and there are lots of threads on the subject - I'm not starting another of those about which is best and what is your fave - we all seem to have preferences

My point is that besides none of them working well (slipiness goes after a few minutes of friction and they go sticky and drag), I have come to the conclusion that they all generally make me sore and I'm certain that using a big application frequently gives be BV. Anyhow, out of frustration I asked my GP for advice when I was there (understanding female GP who knows what I do). She told me that there is now evidence that they are bad for your vagina particularly in sex work applications. I dont offer PIV sex but I do toy and intimate shows that have previously used a lot of lube (eg 1 big tube a week). She said that they can irritate the vagina and cause upset in acid balance. She says the best lube is your own that you make when aroused and if you need more, use proper vaginal moisturiser - but even some of those can be damaging. She says it can also be irritating if you use it on your bum for anal work.

I did my own google search (search for intimate lube safety) and the results are quite shocking. Search it for yourself.

My GP also said that the makers could do a better job and that at the moment none are perfect and some of the big sellers are the worst.

I can make myself wet in my private life and it happens now and then with bookings - but I'm worried that I'm running out of juice - literally!

But imagine fucking our clients without lube, I'm sure lots of us don't get physically aroused with them and wouldn't be producing enough of our own. Add to that it's not always easy to guarantee wetness whether you are aroused or not. I'm certainly not going to risk getting sore inside, I'm sure that would be worse, not just uncomfortable but more prone to infections & further soreness.

Perhaps more needs to be done to produce better products...

You could consider cutting out the toy shows? My own natural lube is sufficient if the sex is oral plus gentle intercourse. If the sex is fingering, or heavy prolonged intercourse I do need lube which I apply sparingly. Toys I don't use because they don't stimulate me, if I did put on a show with toys then I'd use lube.

I do get wet enough for sex with clients, and sometimes the little bit of lube on the condom helps if not.

If you're only using it for toys, how about coconut oil?

For me it's the condom use that makes me dry, even if I am naturally wet.

Ouch I couldn’t imagine not using lube! But it’s the condoms that rub and irritate me :/

I've read on here about some women using coconut oil putting a bit of it up and letting it melt like a natural moisturiser , I don't know much about it but it sounds more natural .

Just chucking it out there lol

Ooch it is too painful to think about it isn't it?
I remember the days before I even knew about lube.. Cystitis too often.  :'(
Now it's a godsend with this job but still get that air build up and loud fanny farts.

Luck for me, I generally don’t need lube. Even if I’m not attracted to him, the thought of fucking gets me aroused enough anyway. But, one time recently I had to use lube and I got thrush for the first time in years! It’s definitely put me off using it!

Might try this. Does the oil in coconut oil affect the wearability of condoms?
Like say baby oil can perish them if it gets in contact?

Don't use coconut oil or any kind of oil with condoms as it breaks them x.
