In the UK it is the normal age of consent, i.e. 16 unless you are also their teacher / someone else you have a duty of care for, when it's 18.

It's 16 but as soon as they say they have money, or the classic "My money is as good as anyone else's" I just know they are going to be very difficult, and mess around.

It's not illegal to work under the age of 18, it's illegal for the client to pay for sex with someone under the age of 18 - reasonable belief the person is 18 or over can be a defence.

This reminds me of when a kid rung me, he sounded about 14, said he was 18, I said no your too young, he then said hold on my uncle wants to see you, think he passed the phone to his mate who tried to put a rough older voice on, made me laugh more than anything, reminded me of when I was younger trying to act older. We used to play knock door run on the local massage parlour. On the subject of legal age I m not sure there is ones but obviously they would need to be 16 to have sex, not sure how awkward that  would be  though lol.

I find it awkward with anyone under 35 sadly. Men just don’t even start to grow up til that age. I can’t even hold conversations or date guys my age or younger because of the mental capacity of a lot of them lol

What was "Controlling a child prostitute or a child involved in pornography" - notice that no gain is necessary (and in fact gaining from it is not a specific offence) - and "Arranging or facilitating child prostitution or pornography" is now "Controlling a child in relation to sexual exploitation" and "Arranging or facilitating sexual exploitation of a child".

People prepared to break one law - the usual agency "controlling prostitution for gain" - can be prepared to break another one, but the maximum penalty for these two is fourteen years, not seven, and being suspected of doing it should guarantee police interest.
