increasing rates
« on: 12 May 2024, 06:54:38 am »
For the past couple of weeks I've been mulling over increasing my rates. when I first started escorting in the summer I charged £120 for half hour and £200 for an hour and after returning from hiatus have charged anywhere from £230-250 per hour and £140-150 per half hour. Funnily enough since increasing my rates i've been busier than ever and have even started receiving some really big tips, for example was in dublin last week charging 300 euro for an hour and a very lovely gentleman tipped me an extra 50 euro. When I first started escorting i remember being way too scared about increasing my rates due to me worrying that I wouldn't receive any custom but now that I have and may probably again in the future Ive realised that at all price ranges there will be clients who can just barely afford you so will try and talk you down and others who can more than comfortably pay 3x of what you charge like with all businesses. As I'm approaching retirement and will be working a lot less often I'd definitely be looking to increase my rates as I'm now in a financial position to get by fine with potentially earning less which may always happen. To others who have inreased their rates, how did it go for you?

I increased my rates as I became busier and busier, often too busy so it always made sense. What I did notice I is I needed to be selective about those I kept on previous rates because quite a few didn't appreciate it, they over stayed, were difficult, unreliable, arriving late, otherwise messing around. Many regulars did turn up with the new full fee insisting this is the amount they are paying.

I am currently asking the 3 or 4 who are on a much lower than my advertised rate to increase slightly, they've been on this rate for a very long time bills have rise significantly, and from March next year council tax on the property I use for a couple of incalls is being charged at  200% (because I don't live there) so it's time I brought them up a little. Reactions so far have been fine, one was interesting because he truly didn't realise how much less he was paying.

I increased my rates for the second time recently and I'm still always busy. I still have my fave clients on the old rate but some have been regulars for years and I enjoy their company so don't mind.

It absolutely makes sense, especially as you say you'll be working less anyway.
I added £10 per hour in the new year to everybody and I'm still as busy as ever.

Like quite a lot of us, I think, I find it frustrating that my rate of £150 ph is still the same as I had it back when I began working, 15 years ago.

I do mess around with my profile and have put it up before but I think that it depends on location. Maybe if I was in a city, it would work but being in a remote location, I find that it makes things very quiet for me.

I did increase my rates when I moved home this year. No one complained but it's not put time wasters off sadly .

If a TW isn't going to attend your rates don't matter.
