Yeah ok no worries, was not going out my way to do so, was a direct request what product I recommend, out of interest if it was not my own site, would it have been ok to put up someone elses like Lixie had done?
Yes, it's just a general rule of fairness - for example, there are loads of questions about making websites on this forum and if I started answering all of them with suggestions that they check out EmilyJonesWebDesigns.com (not real!

) it would make the forum a little icky for everyone.
Of course you're only trying to answer one direct question but it's a case of us all having to abide by the same rules just to make sure no one really does start spamming the place - you could always pop a link in the Spamming section and then, if asked directly in a different thread, say that there is a link to be found in that section for anyone who wants to look.
Posting 3rd party links is a greyer area, potentially, because one link isn't going to make much difference but if I started posting links to Amy'sWebDesign.com (ahem, also not real!) everywhere it would be equally icky and annoying for everyone. If you think you might end up directing more than one person to a link, just put it in the Spamming bit and then point people there - it'll save you some typing, at least!
