Returning texts etc....
« on: 21 November 2017, 08:06:15 am »
I advertise on AW (I also work with an agency) and I do stipulate on AW that phone call is mandatory for a first apt. So, if someone texts do you reply? Or completely ignore regardless of what they have yextvabout? Or do you reply?
I mostly get ?where are you? and ?are you working today?? With which I?ve said one word answer to where I am/ if I?m working (only have phone on when working anyway) and then asked them to ring.

I think we all prefare calls to txt I work this way too....i reply please call for bookings and enquiries, I normaly get a reply which says ok, but were are you? This is when I ignore. Personally I think if they cannot follow a simple instruction there going to be a nightmare getting in and out the apartment plus even in the booking.

Yes I reply with the answer e.g. "Yes I am" or "I'm in Sheffield" and then follow "Please call me to make a booking." Then I just don't respond to any further texts.

Similar to VC, I either ignore or reply please phone. The genuine ones will ring me within a couple of minutes.  If they can not phone for any reason it is up to them to ensure they make the time or go somewhere private to ring me.

If I get "where you based" I ignore those because wherever they found my details will have given that info out.

I stipulate no texts for new enquiries, I used to reply asking them to call or redirect them to my website however very few did so, and quite a few would go on asking 'just one more question' or making excuses for not being able to phone.

These days I copy and paste an 'auto' reply to all new, or anyone who's not been in touch for years.

I have tried once again responding with an explaination, but it's mostly only ever abused - so auto reply all the way.

I'll only confirm a booking after talking on the phone, but respond to any reasonable question by text. Some men might not be able to phone, and might just want to check where you are or if you offer a particular service etc. If they come up with more than one idiotic question I just ignore.

I think a brief reply and request for them to call is a good idea.

Frankly, most of them don't read profiles.

many they are arranging when they are in office...so discreet and prefer texting.
i reply back just to normal text with polite manner.

some after they send an email on aw then...it is more easy by text for many.
but i am always very short so max 2 texts if he sounds nice and polite.

i like to have a good communication, fast with them. so i like they send me a text also ... i got already their number and i feel more in connection.
I guess they need of that too!

anyway if i should do a statistic...i reply 2 text on 10 received....
 ;D ;D mostly ignored!

Similar to Kay really.I actually will take bookings via text but only if they sound articulate and like they have read my profile otherwise I will text back 'please call' if they are asking alot of questions or I will answer a couple and then point out that the details are on my profile.I will not get into text tennis with them though.

If I have my number displayed I have an autoreply that tells them the times I'm available, where I am and please call to book or leave a message. I'll pick up if I can but if I miss the call / text they get the autoreply. I prefer emails anyway but alternatively a phone call. A text tells me nothing apart from they are lazy, it's fine if I know someone but not for new.

A phone call tells me a lot, rough age, accent, polite or not, pushy or not, stupid, cocky, friendly etc, all things a text would not reveal. A text alone will not get a reply from me other than my autoreply.

I just copy & paste from notes in my phone "hi yes I'm available today. All bookings are taken by call. For more info please refer to my website etc" if they send another, usually "it's my first time blah blah BS" Ill just copy & paste again or send a "please refer to my Faqs, all your questions are answered within my profile & website", they soon get the message. They seem to think we've got nothing better to do than pander to their needy BS.
