known at the gum clinic
« on: 20 March 2016, 08:09:55 pm »
my ex husband has a business and this woman has worked for him on the weekends for years, I knew she was doing something in the medical/health profession  many years back,  have been divorced 6 years. ok my last visit she came in to do bloods and said hi mrs so so how are you because you know me you can request another person to do your checks. I was mortified but my answer was hi, no your ok I know this is "STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL", it has still nerved me a bit. I am due again soon so should I change or carry on there. It only takes one stupid person to tell. Obviously I would then confront the clinic. Have I answered my own question.?

Did you stated in the initial consultation form that you were a sex worker?? If not, what are you afraid of her finding out?

Ouch.

It all depends how happy you and your husband are with her knowing you're a sex worker. If you guys don't care less oh well, no probs But if you guys would rather she not know then I would go to another gum clinic.

I go a different clinic because of this , I've also worked within the medical field and regardless of what they say they still talk....I know because of the things I've been told under the guise of "we're all professionals so we know we won't tell anyone ! But if they tell me....they do ! I go somewhere else they know what I do and are great !

ah ana me and my husband are not together we split 6 years ago and she still works for him we have small child together so yes she could potentially tell him or another member of his staff,  then there would be I want custody lol and throw all names at me.

Ouch. You need to go to another clinic them, because if you signed in as a sex worker she's going to know and that's a very very juicy piece of gossip... ("my boss wife is a prostitute") and voice is going to spread...

Agree. I would go somewhere else because even if things are fine for now, if you get sick, e.g. gonorrhea then she might be the first to gossip 'oh my boss's ex is a sick sl*t.

Isn't it already too late? She's seen you and, presumably, your notes?

Obviously you can't go back.

Something sort of similar came up on mumsnet - not a prostitute but someone with a sensitive history/illness and a tricky situation with a potentially troublesome person. Everyone advised that the laws are so strict, she'd be sacked, blah blah blah but some people do break the law on occasion.

Best you do, not sure if you can request your notes to be transfered to the new gum clinic you are going to choose.
