Kissing and DATY?
« on: 31 May 2008, 11:17:09 pm »
Hey Ladies,

Started escorting a month ago and I'm just wondering...

Do you ladies kiss?  I've been full blown kissing with almost every client I have, as well as letting them perform DATY if they want but I'm scared of Type 2 Herpes and Hep C.

I wanted to do GFE and offer kissing, but now that I'm seeing quite a few clients and somes hygeniene as well as health is questionable. How should I approach this and what are ur rules of thumb on this sorta stuff.  I dunno, I'm also more worried about Hep C etc than STDs....

Should I just kiss regs?

Thanks! ;)

From context I thought that DATY meant cunnilingus, but had no idea where that came from. Apparently it's Dining At The Y.

Hep C is an STD, it's not in it's own category.

It's transmitted through blood, so kissing and receiving oral aren't considered risks. If you want to be safer still, don't brush your teeth or shave immediately before seeing a client, and don't kiss if you have wisdom teeth coming through or something. Definitely don't borrow a client's toothbrush or razor.

Herpes is a risk, but I cycled to work and back today and now I'm tired, so my brain isn't up to dealing with that at the moment. Maybe later.

The STI journal I've mentioned before has a 2004 paper on oral shedding of herpes 2 - the one that most commonly leads to genital herpes.

Over about 18 years, it looked at 1388 people with HSV-2, and only in 44 (3.2%) cases did they ever find any of the virus in their mouths. This was more common for gay HIV+ men and during their first episode of genital HSV-2 or during genital recurrence of HSV-2.

So... possible but not very likely. If they don't have genital sores, it's even less likely.

Hi Ladylux

I thought i would just say that as far as Herpes goes you need to consider type 1 and type 2.  Type 1 are the sores that cause herpes around the mouth (cold sores) and type 2 is genital herpes however, one can lead to the other, for example if your client has a cold sore and goes down on you then you may develop genital herpes or vice versa.  If one of you has genital herpes and the other performs oral sex then you can develop cold sores from the genital herpes...  I hope this helps, I think Anika Mae answered the Hep c one for you

Ps have a read of the STI page on the saafe home page, the age you go to before you go into this forum

On the subject of Hep C, a risk that people don't tend to consider is snorting. Obviously the sensible thing is not to do it at all, but if you do, don't share straws/notes. The powder can damage the membranes of the nose, allowing blood to be passed around.

I think I'm gonna limit who I kiss and cut out DATY (yes, dining at the y or cunnilingus) altogether.

Thanks so much for everyone's responses!

if your client has a cold sore and goes down on you then you may develop genital herpes or vice versa.

This looks to be in the 'possible but not very likely' category too - plus most people already have HSV-1 via being kissed as children by parents/granny etc.
