Hi Girls,
I have recently started escorting and am on AW. I am finding things a bit slow and although I have another day job I would like a more regular client base. Some weeks I see 3 clients, other weeks 1. In saying that I have had repeat bookings, it's just not consistent. I know my prices are correct so that's not an issue and the gents I've seen have been really happy with the service I provide.
I know about the other sites and am considering them when I return from holiday. I am in two minds about getting a website as I am not convinced it will generate that many more bookings.
I saw [a niche agency] site on the recommended advertising list on here but it is an agency and I wanted advice from anyone who knows about it, has worked or is considering work there. For example: do they take a percentage of your hourly rate as I cannot find any real info on this on their site?
I really wanted to avoid agency work; however there is something attractive about the site and I am in the mature category. Also, there is the fact that someone else would handle all the admin and calls and screen the timewasters.
Any advice gratefully received, as always.

I don't know a lot about agency work but you any you are mature. Is that a mature 30; mature 40 or a mature 50 for agencies usually go go the young uns. :(

I dont know the ins and outs of [removed] but I do know the website wasnt very user friendly, have you tried [removed - please don't post agency links here] they seem upmarket and mostly london based but they do have Escorts outside the capital too. I dont know how "mature" you are but she has ladies from 35-75.

I'm in the same boat as you, just starting out and trying to build a bigger clientele. It's tough isn't it, which part of the country are you?
I'm not in the mature category (28) but I'll be watching the thread with interest to see if anything I've not heard of yet comes up.

I've removed the link above and altered the title - we don't discuss/recommend by name or otherwise give free promotion to illegal operations on the forum not least because they can pay for their advertising like everybody else. I'm 46 but no one believes me; they all think I'm in my 30s! My mum says it s in the genes!!
I am also Norfolk based. I don't have huge competition in the area I am in by all accounts, but I can only do outcalls and even if I could do incalls, I feel more in control doing outcalls and my home is my personal space. A client has offered me a house to work from in return for some 'sexy fun' and he is completely genuine but for some reason I am worried about taking incalls; I feel vulnerable.
I just think it might take some of the stress and effort out of trying to get clients if I worked for [an agency]. There are so many timewasters on AW but perhaps that's just me and I haven't given it enough time.

Well you wouldn't 'work for' anybody, they would be working for you - you are paying them handsomely to answer a few phone calls and the people ringing are no less likely to be timewasters than the people on Adultwork. You just won't have to speak to them, but it's a double edged sword - most of us would rather have at least passed the time of day with the person we're going to be alone in a vulnerable situation in before they're standing in front of us.
If you don't mind that and think it's worth up to a third of your earnings that's your call entirely, but do bear in mind that newbies are always targeted by the idiots and it does get easier, especially as you get more attuned to it. Having ads other than Adultwork would be a big help, and they won't cost anywhere near as much as a pimp will charge you :).

What are your views on having a website? Someone has offered to put one together professionally with a UK domain I (I admit to knowing next to nothing about this in any shape or form but I have seen some that look cheap) and would charge ?150.

Well there's an awful lot of information here already about personal sites, but in a nutshell if I didn't have mine and had to rely on AW I would either have been sectioned or starved to death by now :D. You don't just get access to virtually every free directory worth the bother but Google too (try Googling 'escort [your town]' and I doubt very much whether your Adultwork profile will come up).
There's a common misconception that punters don't use any other site, but it's not even halfway to being true and depending on where you are and where your competition advertises you could be seriously missing a trick. Apart from anything else, you can get a site done for next to nothing and plenty of people here have done just that :).

Im wanting to get a website done too but it seems really expensive when you factor in the cost of having your photos done and the website built. Does anybody have one on free hosting (eg freewebs, wixx)?
My advice for all its worth though is not to go with an agency, my friend works for one here, its 160 per hour, the agency takes 60 and you have to use her driver and pay him 20! So you get 50% and the woman gets only 20 ? less than you when youve had to do the job! The other thing she sometime s does is deals with the guy for longer bookings - like 400 for 3 hours, but she still takes the same money you have to take the loss and you had no say in the matter!
Id much rather keep trying to make this work on my own than be exploited like that.

See another recent post about the photos issue (http://www.saafe.info/main/index.php?topic=22293.0) - it's quite possible, and sometimes positively desirable to do your own.
Yes, some people use wix, moonfruit and some other free services. There is usually a cost in other ways though.

The cost of an independent website is only a few hundred pound if that!
Photos can be done for free with assistance of a friend, or you can have some good studio shoots, 20-50 finished images for ?200-300.
I baulked at that until I had it done, and worth it's weight in bookings.
Far better to have your choice of bookings having spent a few hundred, than having to hope someone will phone having spent slightly less. I'd rather have more options.

Im using a free website since 2011 and Ive put adverts on many sites which are free if you put their link / banner on your site.
You can take few nice pics yourself or ask a regular client of yours to take few.
No need to pay anything when you start.

Thanks Hotblondie....I had a look at your website actually and its amazing. I will set something up on one of the free hosting servers.
I know ?200-300 isnt much compared to what a website will potentially earn you, but most girls are starting out in the business because they need money and dont have that much to spend to get started.

They provided between 1 and 4 job offers a day and there was not one time waster! Also, considering the standard agency rate went from 1 hr for ?350 to overnight ?1500, the commission didn't bother me too much. The only thing that did bother me is having to be on call. There were some very strange situations though (parties with 20+ girls and one gentleman ;) ) This was in London, but I just wanted to demonstrate that some agencies do deliver.
I've no idea what the market is like in Norfolk, but with adultwork's penchant for deleting profiles I'd not put all my eggs in one basket!
I've recently returned to work and am, again, hoping to achieve a balance between independent/agency work.

I think like with everything there will be good agencies and not so good agencies. Ive never worked for one myself so im just retelling what I was told.
Also most of the agencies in Edinburgh were owned by the same people who ended up going to prison for various prozzie related things. So now there is only that one established agency left here. So you either work for her or go indie.

I love this web design company. I've got my site with them too. I upgraded to the paying one (less than ?20 per month) cos I wanted some extras, but their free sites they do are fab. Also their customer service is excellent too.
Norfolk is what some may call 'a punting desert', so given the right exposure Lucielee you should do well. Best of luck :)

I am delighted when someone is happy with whoever they use for their website, but the cost of doing one is almost all in the creation and there'd need to be something very special happening for ongoing costs of that level.
