Is this offer legitimate or a scam
« on: 14 April 2025, 11:09:42 pm »
Hi,
I'm a new male escort just starting out in this industry, about two months ago on February 7th I got a WhatsApp message from a girl in America asking if I could meet her for 10 days. She said I could set the price so I said £900 a day to which she agreed. She also said that she was the owner of a construction company. And that she was in the process of getting divorced and that it wouldn't be finalised until the end of April.

Then she said to contact her travel agent who would arrange the flight and accommodation etc etc. So anyway I contacted the travel agency and they said I would need to pay £200 for flight insurance and and another £200 for airport tax. When I contacted my client and told her this as well as I couldn't pay I expected her to lose interest, but instead she said she would reimburse me the money in cash when we met in Los Angeles, when I asked her if she could pay the flight insurance and airport tax instead she said she couldn't because her and her husbands bank accounts were linked and that if he found out it would mess up her divorce. She even at one point offered to make me a beneficiary in her divorce, which sent up a major red flag for me as I said to her we're not in a relationship I'm a prostitute whos only been talking to you for the last month. To which she replied I'm lonely my husbands been abusing me.

I thought if I just fobbed her off and told her I didn't have the money she would lose interest, but instead over the next two months she what's apped me on an almost daily basis just asking me things like how are you, how's your day etc etc.

I've contacted the travel agency and asked them to give me the details of the hotel we're going to be staying at but as it's only been a few hours I haven't heard back from them yet.

Anyway I just wanted to ask you guys/ladies if you think this is a legitimate offer or if I'm in danger of being done over.

Also id like to know what to say to immigration in America if I decide to go out and meet her.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I stopped reading at "I would need to pay" :)

Scam.

(The same would have applied if it had been the more old-fashioned one of them sending you something like a US cheque etc that was more than you had asked for and expected you to pay someone else the difference before the couple of weeks it would take for a UK bank to go 'this is a fake' and take all of it out of your account.)
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

100% a scam. Any fmty bookings I do include the client paying for my flights/other travel in advance. Anybody saying you have to pay anything is scamming you. Best thing to do is block and report the number.

If you have to ask the question, you already know the answer.

It’s the biggest lot of bullshit I’ve heard in a long time!

The saddest thing about these scams and there's no question the above one is the worst I've seen is that some people will have fallen for it.
