A quick question...
I often get emails from SEO companies promising to take care of the SEO of my site in return for a monthly fee.
I've never taken anybody up on their offer but wondered if any of you have? If so, is it worthwhile?
I think I'm pretty good at promoting my site but wonder if these specialist companies can do things that I can't?
Any thoughts please?

I did this twice with a gap inbetween and apart from an initial improvement it didn't really make any difference overall (and I think I could have done that myself with a teeny bit of effort). The second company I used ceased trading half way through the 12 months I paid in advance for, and I never got my money back. That said my site didn't drop off and when I got a new website (thanks to another company letting me down) I decided not to bother again and just use my own knowledge instead of paying for something I could do myself. Lo and behold in a very short time I was back up there.

What tickles me is these SEO companies contact me offering front page listing, when I say "I'm already there, surely you know this being in the biz", they can only say "Uh, oh yeah, ah ok you're right" ::)and then stop there
