It can depend on which bank, however if you tell them "Just put your own name or a friends name, and when it says 'details don't match' press to go ahead anyway" it usually works.

If it's a business bank account, is it possible to set it up with a business name?
I remember asking Barclays about this a while ago, it was called a mandate change (I wrote it down but never got to follow up on this).

I opened a business account in my business name, with the Tide mobile app. It only accepts UK to UK bank transfers so it's no good for international money transfers but works fine for receiving deposits and payments for video clips and chat sessions from UK clients. Transfers have all appeared instantly.

UK-based sole traders and freelancers with a valid UK residential address who are registered with HMRC are eligible for a Sole Trader account.

I don't keep any money on the app. As soon as I receive money, I forward it to my personal account. I put consultant as my business type.

Not worth the risk - not only can the client ask for a chargeback, if Paypal learn that the account holder is an adult services provider/sex worker and using the account for payment, not only will they close down the account, they will also retain any monies in the account.

Just a cautionary bit of advice - the name of the bank account holder will appear on the bank statement of the person who sent the money.

Regardless of the fact that the clients are bypassing the name match during transfers, when they log in to their online statements, your real name or the real name associated with the bank account WILL indeed appear.

Also, if there are any tenacious investigators with nothing better to do in their spare time, they can ring their fraud/query department of their bank and request the name of the person to whom the transfer was made. Sometimes the client's bank will tell them straight away over the phone or they will ask the client querying the transfer to fill in a query form and will send them the info via email or post - so yes, your name can be obtained by a client who sends you money to your account.
