Well the update on my arm is that it is still in place but i have moaned quite a bit about it all weekend when pulling pints and lifting glasses out of the dishwasher   

The bruise was poxy.  not even black and only about the size of a 20p.... you only ever get the really good sympathy if its a big ol' ugly bruise and it wasnt... it looked more like a biro smudge.

Anyway, its stopped hurting now so i shall stop whinging.... till the next pain i find

You do make me laugh. I'm sorry the bruise wasn't bigger for you to show off lexie. You should've got some of that make-up stuff and painted some on your arm.

Nice advice but it would have been my luck that it wore off as the night went on and then id have looked even more like a liar.... I might try it next time anyway and just spray it with hairspray to finish lol

If it's of any consolation, I've just got the depo jab for the first time today, and my left buttock is sore to the point where I'm sitting at an angle. Imagine that picture. And I didn't think it was going to feel that sore.

Brandy, just as a piece of info, you can have the depot shot in your arm, I had it in alternating arms every three months for at least 10 years and it worked perfectly well. I used to get crippeling backpain for 3 days after the shot, but was fine with the arm.
You will still feel a bit sore around the injection site and you tend to get a lump for a couple of days, but at least you don't have to sit on it. 

If you have the info leaflet it should state that you can get the injection in the upper arm.

hi guys im just reading through this thread - i dont think ive ever had this jab - if i have it - can it be carried out by someone else apart from doctor and can i say its for something else apart from the truth - chloe (a nervous wreck at the thought of having to tell the real truth lol)

The doc went straight for my rump. She did give me a leaflet so I'll read that this week when I have some time.

Glad to be of use, I know the docs always aim straight for the broadside, I think it's cos they are not so sure with giving jabs and like a larger space to aim for, hehe. It was a nurse who mentioned to me that I could get the shot in the arm and I had to insist on it for the first few times, but they got used to it and I was often greeted with: "Oh yes, you're the ONE who gets it in the arm!"
