It's usually because of discretion. Which I can respect. But if we can't chat with them on the phone to get their vibe for screening reasons or they dont even want to put a booking through.... then it's a bit like dodgy to me. It sounds like more of a cop out if they can't be bothered to turn up then there wont be someone texting them asking where they are kind of thing.

They may have a legitimate reason but if they're sincere then they'll find an opportunity to call.

I won't accept a booking until I spoke to them, it's part of my security screening and not something I ever bend rules for, for new clients. Existing clients I have no issue with texts or emails.

I appreciate some may have time constraints but I find these ones usually start with the ping pong texts with what will I do, what outfits I have blah blah.

Absolutely, it's also in their interest too. I've gotten a lot of clues about a person by speaking to them, and it's enabled me to dodge situations where there's more than one man, person is drunk or drugged. If I'd arranged it soley by text message, or email I'd have not picked that up.

There's a man local to me who's English is very poor, his text messages aren't too bad, they could be from a native speaker. When I've spoken to him it's obvious that we just wouldn't be able to get on in a room alone - we can't even talk about basics. I've declined him several times for this reason. If I'd not insisted on a phone call, I'd have just thought he was someone who wasn't very good at typing on a phone.

Totally agree, I won't see a new client until we've spoken on the phone.

I've had similar experience to Mirror when their texts have been fine but their spoken English so bad that I know the booking will go horribly wrong. Especially if I'm at a hotel and need to explain to them how to get past reception.

Sometimes competition wants to know your address, hotel room.. I get less timewasters since i stopped accepting text bookings.

I'm the opposite - in an email when they ask "what's your number so I can call you?" - I don't like it!
Maybe down to too many tw's looking for sex talk with no intentions of booking at the start has put my back up, I dunno.. But I prefer to chat to someone new via email or text, then they have to put in a booking request the first time.
Majority of the tw's disappear at this point.... X

Ooh I'll thrash the details out by email no problem, the phone call is almost only a "Hi I'm such and such" type call. I find that most who are drunk, drugged, more than 1 male present tend to use text message, and want it now.

None native speakers can sometimes use translation software, which comes across in the writing style.

I find if someone wants sex chat they'll do it by any method.

I once had a guy text me to say he cant call as he is deaf and could we communicate by text, I decided not to proceed as I always have to speak to them first.

I had a guy only the other day which I suspect is the same guy I blocked a few months ago saying he couldnt ring because he was deaf and he started the abuse saying I should she him as it wasnt his fault, maybe so but my booking procudures are to be followed

Not so much as a red flag to me as an absolute 'will not see'. I won't accept a booking until I've spoken to someone on the phone and have their mobile number.

The only exception (in almost 2.5 years) was a deaf man, who I swapped quite a few emails with beforehand - he even sent me a photo of himself.

I won't see anyone I haven't spoken to on the phone with no exceptions.
Same goes for enquiries about doing a session with a couple.
Unless I can speak to both parties the booking doesn't happen.
And no..Saying 'It's a birthday surprise for my wife' doesn't work with me.

IInmy experience if they wont call they are either timewasters who want to text chat with you or (more often with me) they are trying to hide something. I am very strict that if someone doesnt speak fluent english i wont see them so you get quite a few trying to get arpund that restriction by texting. I also have a lower age restriction which is advertised but also checked by their voice. Again these ones try to avoid talking as they get given away.

ANY genuine client who is serious about wanting a booking will call. Dont waste your time with the ones who wont x

I recently had one like that. Apparently, he hasn't got a phone when his booking form had a number, his, presumably. I politely told him we need to reschedule this booking until he has a phone to phone me. I got a barrage of abuse after that. NOT WORTH IT. (written in bold for emphasis, not shouting) Block him. I'll see if I get some feedback only abuse but if he does, I know what to say in reply.

I also started to wonder if I ought to add him under warning for his verbal abuse...

I don't believe anyone in this age has the inability to make a call so anyone making excuses is extremely likely to be a timewaster who won't show up but will send plenty of wanky emails before the booking. I don't accept any booking without a phone number and a phone call from them to prove it is their number, there are no exceptions to this rule. When doing an outcall to a hotel room I also require the hotel room phone number so I can call their room to confirm.

It's the most basic security you need to confirm they are who they say they are and they are where they say they will be, you also need to have some of their contact details in case something happens and you need to report them, anyone who can't abide by this isn't somebody worth seeing imo.
