Title: Is AW playing up for anyone else?!!!
Post by: Sash on 06 November 2010, 12:01:12 pm
Half the time when I try to press 'enter' on the home page, I'm getting an error 404, and some crap wrote in Turkish the other half of the time?!

I Googled that funny code and it's possibly referring to your wireless router? You can check it out here (http://www.google.co.uk/search?aq=f&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=TD-W8901G).

Like the others above, I'm not having any trouble with the AW site at all. I suggest you unplug your wireless router, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in. Is the rest of the Internet working properly for you?

If resetting your router doesn't help, perhaps try calling a friend you can trust to help you - they could log in to AW with their username and see if your profile has been hacked or changed in any way, or you could give them your details and see if they can log in from their location.

If it's your account that's broken/hacked, you need someone to get in touch with the AW people for you. If your router is broken, you just need to call your wireless company. :)

Thanks for that everyone.

I think that might be the problem Emily, didn't even think to google it  ::)
I'm thinking of getting a mobile dongle tbh, would help if I go to a hotel etc too! x

Are you sure you're connected to *your* wireless, and not that of a neighbour?

I'm running out of ideas now. :( I hate the hardware bits of the Internet!

Haha yeah! I don't live alone, there's a computer here that runs off a modem, then has a router on it that gives my laptop its internet. Whenever the computers getting used the laptop seems to like saying no!
Ah well, few places are doing laptops with mobile dongles on a pay monthly, might just go and sort myself one of those and get a new laptop while I'm at it! x

Your answer reminds me of the time I was trying to fix someone's machine which wouldn't even post (power-on self-test) and someone hanging over my shoulder asked if I had tried defragging it.
