Irregular Periods
« on: 01 June 2012, 08:15:25 pm »
Hello Ladies,

I suffer from irregular periods, and it's damn annoying as I can't plan time off well- therefore I end up letting clients down. Some girls work during there period, but it can be painful to have sex on mine (might be because I have the coil) so I choose not to work.
Also I have thought about going on the pill purely for this reason, but I'm not allowed to be on hormonal contraceptives.

Does anyone else have this problem? What do you do in terms of booking clients and tours etc?

xx

Have you tried the depo provera injection? I used to have heavy and irregular periods. Since I?ve taken this, not a single drop! Haven?t had a period for nearly five months now so it doesn?t stop me working. Mind you can?t get pregnant while you?re on it or straight after, it takes some time to leave the system.

Have you been checked for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome? Major cause of irregular periods (especially if the cycles are longer than average).

Is it ALL types of hormonal contraceptives you can't have or just oestrogen (ie the combined pill)?

As for bookings I don't know since I don't offer full sex service, however I have heard of other escorts switching to an Oral-only (with kissing, fondling etc) service for those days if you want to minimize losing money

Yeap I have PCOS. I'm not sure actually... I think it's pretty much anything hormonal, since I've been on most of the pills, but seem to have a reaction to all of them.

Oral-Only thats an idea... though i feel a bit weird telling clients i'm on my period  :-\

Nope I'll look into it... though it's probably got more hormones in it than the pill so they probably wouldn't let me have it!

HAH... Don't worry I don't think I'll be trying for a kid anytime soon!  ::)

I used to feel a little awkward telling clients about my period, but they really don't seem to mind, my regulars are happy to check when my "off week" is.  I've worked a couple of times during my period offering a reduced service, although I didn't charge the full whack, I knocked off ?25 as I'd rather have a reduced booking than no booking during my off week.

I offer a reduced service as well, and it's really funny how clients react when I tell them.  Some are fine and some of them get so embarrassed over the phone that they start stammering and erm arh and can't get off the phone fast enough, it's like they're gonna catch it :)

I have very irregular and heavy periods at the moment and am trying all sorts of stuff to sort them out.  You can try a couple of natural remedies (check they don't react with any medication you are taking).

One is Shepherds purse, which can stop heavy bleeding, I used it last month after a very long and very heavy period wouldn't stop and it worked like a dream, but this month it didn't seem to have an effect, but I did run out after 3 days.  You can buy it online, or if you are in south east London you can buy it in a shop there.

The other is to take DIM, it takes about 3/4 months to see a difference, but it tackles excess estrogen, again check to see if this is what is causing the irregular periods.  I got mine on amazon and have just started taking it, so I have no idea if it works.  Apparently it helps the liver to get rid of the excess estrogen.

Do you know what type of coil you have?  The copper one or the Merina (sp?) one?  Because the merina one can cause spotting and irregular periods.  And the copper one can cause really heavy and long periods.

I have the copper one. Since the other one has hormones in it. I'll research into your natural suggestions thank you. I'm on so much medication at the moment though it's a joke!

Yeah I find it works really well for me. Both as a means of controlling irregular periods and as a birth control method. It?s not for everyone, there are a few side effects (weight gain, migraines and so ? nothing life threatening!) but I haven?t suffered from any of them. It?s my preferred method ? don?t need to remember to take the pill everyday, rely on a sponge or have to reduce services. Also once you have the injection it last for six months.

I've just found info on some website, that woman who use Depo-Provera Contraceptive Injection may lose significant bone mineral density. Bone loss is greater with increasing duration of use and may not be completely reversible.
I never tried that, but I've taken Cerazette, and got very moody, like worse case of PMS.I also felt really hungry,to the point of shaking, like with low blood sugar.I couldn't take it and switched back to combined pill.
There are few available in the UK,and Femulen seems to be better according to reviews.
I would recommend to try mini pill first before any injection,as it's not for every female.

To be fair, there are pros and cons and risks of every method of contraception there is, not just Depo. The trick is to try to find one which most suits yourself and your most important needs, with minimal side effects.

The best method for one individual may change over the course of that person's life also.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.  :)

I'm going to take them to my GP and discuss options with them. (I have lots of health conditions so it's best I don't do anything without his consent).

I never knew there were so many contraceptive options.  :o

Thanks again to everyone that took the time to reply  :-*
