Increasing your hourly rate
« on: 11 January 2016, 09:59:09 pm »
So ladies I've been thinking now i've come back for the new year - should I increase my price?

I thought that if there is more demand than I can supply then doesn't that say I would still do well even with an increase?

I already have a good amount of regulars in my area and I only work between 10-12 days a month.

How have you ladies found business once you increased your hourly rate.

The increase would put at one of the more expensive in my area.

comments welcome

Hi Cherry and Happy New Year!!

It's a tough one isn't it.. one of those "how long is a piece of string" questions too.

Well you seem to suggest in your OP that demand is well outstripping supply, and if that's the case then I think you have good reason to at least give a raise in prices a go. After all, if after a couple of months you are not making what you think you should, you can always lower your prices again.

I raised my prices before and did find that it increased my business. However I raised mine from being low-average to average for my area - going from average to high may be different.

Good luck with it

I raised mine in October. I do low volume anyway not 100% sure how its working yet. Its aways a bit of a risk. My regulars get to keep the old rate for a certain length of time. The difficulty I find is telling people who've come once or twice or who haven't seen you in a while.
