I used to find 'Hun' really off putting, it's not even 'Honey' abbreviated - and I kept feeling like saying "No I am not a Hungarian".
Guys have different ways of addressing women, and I've learned you can't necessary judge a person by the way they type (phone or email). For instance some years ago I had someone who came across as a timewaster, he sent numerous texts and emails, all in short hand text speak, referring to certain fantasies he had about me wetting myself. On every contact he'd refer to my 'knicks', when we eventually spoke on the phone (about 3 months down the line) he was clever, articulate, well spoken with a good job etc. I asked him why he used text speak in his emails to me, he said it was just short hand (by this point I had reason to believe he sent emails as part of this job). I did explain that to anyone else he came across as a young lout, and would be quite off putting to others. He carried on with the txt spk emails, I did meet him and he was as nice as he sounded. Other times I've had extremely eloquent emailers/callers lead me a merry dance.
As long as he's polite I'm absolutely fine, the only thing that does grate on my nerves are texts or emails that just don't get to the point. Ones where you have to extract the information over a lengthy exchange. I've just this year moved to accepting bookings by text, but it can get frustrating when a guy doesn't indicate the time, date or length of appointment he requires. I do try and pin him down, but it often takes some time!
