Hi everyone,
I was just wondering people's thoughts on this...
I live in london (north) and I want to move into central london as its a better location for incalls and even outcalls (less money on cabs, can get to bookings very quick) however I dont know whether to try an apartment block with a porter or not?
The main reason I also need to move now is i live in a building with only 5 other flats on the top floor, some resdents are retired= too much time on their hands and i think are getting suspicious. Also my clients have to walk past all the flats to get to mine so theres more chance of my neighbours seeing them.
I am looking for a much bigger apartment more anonymous etc but these in central london tend to be portered, where there is someone sat 24/7 on reception downstairs. Is this a good thing? My thoughts so far are-
Pro's- I would feel much safer. Its unbelievable the amount of stories I have heard over the last few months about escorts being attacked/knife being pulled out on them, even getting beaten up, and then robbed. My agency manager called me a few weeks ago to just warn me to not keep any valuables at home (which i dont) as one girl in chelsea got robbed by the russian guys, after they stole over ?8,000 in cash and then jewellery they beat her up so bad she is in hospital. There was no porter in her apartment building, but it was in chelsea so she assumed she was safe...I think a porter sitting downstairs and cctv cameras being all over would certainly make anyone think twice.
cons- My friend is an exclusive portered building and has never had any problems with her porter. But my other friend, near knightsbridge is a portered building and its an absolute nightmare. They stop almost every single guy coming in, even though there is no way he has come in without her letting him in. There are cameras in her flat so she can see who is outside before she buzzes them in. But still, walking past reception they get stopped by the porter. Where are you going, why asking a million and one questions. Ive even heard of porters walking the men to the girls apartment and asking again if its ok to let him in. Some porters who are very suspicious even stop the men going up completely. Some on occasions ive heard, even go as far as to contact the landlords or the owners of your apartment to notify them that there are many men going in and out and that you may be an escort...
I just dont know what to do. I want to be safe and feel safe, but im scared about the porter situation. What are everyones opinions?
