the both of you would get on well together!

PP, I don't wish to get into a petty argument. My observations of the posts so far (which I CBA to trawl though and quote but they are all on the thread) have led me to think that the OP has has the same advice a number of times now and she came back to thank people for the advice, whilst also saying that she didn't come here to be told how stupid she was.

A number of other members then came back to respond to this, saying that they didn't intend to imply that Barbie was stupid and that they were giving well meaning advice. She then came back to thank one of them for their constructive input.

You have been on this thread no less than 3 times, to make the same point - in a not very pleasant way - even after the OP has effectively said, "thanks, I get the drift, enough now". I see that as being like a dog with a bone and unhelpful to say the least.

Finally when Barbie thanked people for their kind words, you attacked her for it! There is no need to be personal towards her, or myself, or anybody. It's supposed to be a place where people feel supported and even if you want to give some advice, it can be done in a constructive, kind and tactful way. It's probably not necessary to state the point more than once either. As for being defensive - I don't think you needed to be in this case.

I'm totally with RR as well, in that when things are in black and white, the tone and context of a message can be easily misinterpreted.
