If I never give you another piece of advice, hear this.

DO NOT tell people you are an escort.

girl, you are right. I agree and I learned from that. When I 1st started, I told people that I was an escort and was actually quite happy about it. I just never told my close friends. Even though I never got egged or dog pooed at, alot of times I ended up meeting people who werent actually interested in me as a person but simply wanted to 'find out' about escorting and waste my time, as if I was a fucking case study in a labratory.

And friends..arent any better. My best friend always called me 'whore' and made jokes about me meeting clients. Eventually I told him off pretty badily and he stopped.

I know it was a silly thing too do but you've got too start somewhere and I'm sure you have all made your mistakes.

It wasnt silly it was stupid (sorry) and yeah we all make mistakes but not where my safety or my identity is concerened.  those things are sacred

Roxy i am a little shocked that you blabbed to someone at a party to boost your confidence. What if that guy had known your parents and it started going round. definitely not a good move at all. If you want to be an escort you have to be quiet about it. Don't tell everyone you meet. There is so much involved in being an escort and im not sure you know the in's and out's of how to be one. This is a great site to get advice. But i think you need to get a bit more mature. Im not sure your ready sweety to do this job. I started when i was 21, a very mature 21 year old.
If you are serious about doing this job it might be a good idea to go with an agency as really dont think your ready to do this on your own, you seem like you could be a bit naive and if a guy sees this he will take advantage of you, In this job you need to be a very strong person. Sorry if i am being some what harsh but its a little true.

Juliet you are right to an extent, but at the same time...remember "you live, you learn". Everyone isnt going to come into this being a full blown mature adult. Think about. Back in the days when there wasnt any support forums, no websites, none of that...and when escorts needed to make ends, we just dived into it.

Thats how I did it. I wasnt thinking about whether I knew how to do it or not, I just did it because I needed and wanted to. True, I made quite a bit of mistakes and it wasnt until nearly a year later that I began to seek advice, but I survived and became better than ever. Even the most versed escort worker is going to make a mistake at one point. There was a post somewhere in SAAfe that stated, "Just when you think you have it all figured out, there's always a new client who teaches you that you dont". And its true.

I must admit i do agree with you there Joey, i was well different before i did this job and wasnt sure what to expect, but have got stronger as time went on. Maybe give it ago if its not for you Roxy then at least then you dont have to continue, the only thing you have to do which i learnt is never mix lives. You will be 2 people, one life your real name and then your other life been a fake name and doing the escort job...dont mix the both...if you can do that youll be fine.

Although all of that is true i think perhaps why this thread attracted so much attention was because Roxy started out by opening a thread asking for advice on how to do things, how to get going and how to advertise and how to stay safe (although she was vague about it) and also stated that she had done her research.  That advice was given and then she did the exact opposite.  Also there are a lot of women on this site with kids or neices etc the same age as her and frankly i would try and talk anyone that age out of doing it.  Can you imagine how bitter and synical you could become if you started this so young and took it to heart.  i did say COULD become, i'm not assuming its a given and i know it can happen at any age but we are mostly women around here and i think its natural to automatically want to protect someone her age.

Also the site is called SAAFE... it says it on the tin.  if you read everything this site has to offer in the way of advice on your safety when working but then still go out with the 'it wont happen to me, im going to ignore them all' attitude then you have to expect a bit of backlash.

There are plenty of ladies on here who started without the aid of the internet or with the advice of saafe but it doesnt mean it was any good for all of them.  The resource is here now and the sooner ladies find it once choosing to escort the better.   and the sooner they use the advice and help the better also.

p,s also, if she is 18 would she even remember what life was like without the internet?  i barely do and im in my 30's   lol
