There's no such thing as social escorting, sorry.
The basic test is very, very simple: do they want any money whatever from you before you have cash in your hand from a client?
If yes, they're a scam, whatever reason they give (insurance, registration, oh you have future bookings).
If they are pretending escorting doesn't necessarily involve being sexual with men, they're a scam or won't be around long.
You didn't give them money and you won't be sending off face pics again, so treat it as a free lesson.
