Woman's hour - women paying for sex
« on: 07 March 2009, 07:53:55 pm »
There was a segment on today's Woman's Hour  on radio 4 about women paying for sex which I really enjoyed listening to and would like to recommend.

They featured a woman who'd done it, her preparations and feelings before and after, and a male escort. It was very nicely balanced until the last couple of minutes when the presenter tried to goad the male escort into admitting he felt ashamed of himself! I found it very insightful and surprising.

I think you can Ipod or listen again on the website http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/womanshour/02/2009_09_wed.shtml if anyone's interested.

Thanks Lilly. Funny, I was just reading an article last week on the BBC website on male escorts and the women who use them: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7914639.stm

A friend has a book out, so it's flavour of the month again.

It's better than the other male 'whore-lit' books, even if it does wait until chapter 13 out of 14 to say that actually lots of clients are male.

The Amazon 'about the author' bit has a hugely amusing contradiction: "He wishes to remain anonymous" in the sentence after something that means it can only be one of two or three people.
