Hello ladies/gents lol :) Not too sure how to word the title. How do you experienced ladies book a hotel for say for e.g. 7 days and you get the option of cancelling (shown when booking). However you only want to try for 2 or 3 days break clause where if business or for whatever reason is disappointing you do not get charged for the remaining days? I hope I am making myself clear :P lol I want to try a place for 2 or 3 days then if good extend. However if I only book the 2 or 3 days only and after day 1 find out I want to extend there maybe no vacancy all the rooms maybe booked up. At the same time, I do not want the financial commitment of supposing after say day 2 I do not like it, I do not get charged for the rest of the days.
Someone kindly help me with this. Thanks people. xx

Would you have the full money to pay for the 7 days on arrival or be making it up as you go?

Just that even if you are paying when leaving they put a hold on your card for the full amount on arrival and then when you leave they charge what you actually owe.

Do two or three separate advance bookings with the option to cancel?

If after two days you don't like or doesn't work out then cancel the others.  If you enjoy or it works just let hotel know and you shouldn't have to change rooms.

Worked for me and others many times.

Yes you've got it right.  You don't need an excuse/reason for doing it but you could simply say you didn't know if all your plans would pan out and did it that way just in case.

I do that all the time. Booking .com probably think that I have multiple personalities

Book three days as a booking ( flexible )

Book another three/4 days as flexiable

Always check the cancellation procedure

Ie ibis you can cancel the booking on the day up till 2pm
And as long as it's a flexible booking even if you book 3days and leave after 2 days as long as you tell them your leaving early ( before q12 ) but I always do it before 11am you won't get charged for that day your leaving

Just tell them when you arrive you want to pay when you leave - they will swipe / block the credit card but not actually take payment

Raddison blue you can cancel up till either 4 pm or 6 pm on the day

Holiday inn chain up till 4 pm on the day. ( but a lot of them now charge you a early departure fee if you leave early even on a flexiable booking the one in Birmingham does this )

I often book them on different accounts /different names ( variations of my name) if asked I say my mum / dad sister booked it for me as I didn't have access to the net - hotels don't care who booked it as long as you pay for it

I often book 2 hotel for the same city and on the day I will ring and ask if I'm able to check in early whichever one lets me check in early I stay at -and cancel the other one
