Disabled client concerns. Looking for help and advise.
« on: 28 October 2018, 05:39:56 pm »

I’ve had a few issues recently with seeing Disabled clients and the fact that a couple of occasions when their carers have brought them to me it’s been clear they have not been looked after properly, cleaned properly, and some have had signs of physical abuse. It’s worrying to me as I do advertise on a website where they contact me as it makes them feel safe and comfortable. It’s worrying that both gents I have seen are not getting the correct care, they have not been hygienic, their clothes was unwashed and in one case soiled, and they wasn’t helped to dress on the way to me meaning missing parts of clothing. One of the clients I saw had visible bruising and seemed terrified of his Carer. This particular carer also brought a huge hoist to my hotel which was indiscreet which he told me was a small sling to help aid him into the bed (lied to me) and he was particularly off with me and made me feel uncomfortable. I don’t know if there is an appropriate authority that I can contact to make them aware of my concerns at all. But I would feel as though it’s my fault if I left somebody who is unable to care for them self in a vulnerable situation. Both was lovely guys and I felt awful for them and I was unable to say anything as I didn’t want to cause offense.

Sorry if this is triggering for anybody I just want to find out what is the best thing to do in this situation as I feel responsible leaving it.

I was thinking the same... horrible that people get treated this way and we have a responsibility to do what we can to help, however we can.
